2. Introduction
 Today’s Bangladesh is a development
country. It is developed in many purposes by
the help of foreign investments. Like as the
Metro-rail,germents,industrial purposes etc.

3. What is foreign direct
investment(FDI)
 A foreign direct investment (FDI) is an investment
in the form of a controlling ownership in a
business in one country by an entity based in
another country.
 The foreign direct investment (FDI) is considered
as one of the major sources of employment
generation, technology transfer, and managerial
capacity building, and increasing market efficiency
in any country.
 In Bangladesh every year the amount of foreign
direct investment inflows is increased.

(Multilateral investment Guarantee Agency)
 OPIC (Overseas Private Investment
Corporation) of America
 ICSID (International Centre for Settlement of

6. Problems of FDI in Bangladesh
 Political instability

 Lack of communication and transportation

 Lack of skilled manpower
 But somehow some major curses become the
major hindrance for encouraging the foreign
investments in Bangladesh. Like as the corruption.

7. Corruption:
 Wrong doing on the part of an authority or
powerful party through means that are
illegitimate, immoral, incompatible with the
ethical standards.

 Grand corruption
 Systematic corruption

9. Political Instability
 Another major hindrance to encouraging
foreign investments is political instability.
There is a bad political impact on FDI in
Bangladesh. When the political parties create
intolerable environment ,the foreign country
can not invest in this country.

10. Conclusion
 To develop our country it needs not only
internal investment but also foreign
investment in many purposes. But the
corruption and political instability is the curse
for our country. To encourage foreign
investment in Bangladesh it is need to be
remove the corruption and political instability
from our country.
