pitching your own superhero film adaptation.

1. What is included in our PowerPoint:
We have:
• some research and the lead actor for the hero: Ironheart -
Tiffany Haddish
• Some research and the lead actor for the villain: Black Cat
– Elizabeth Gillies
• some research and our choice of director to work on our
film: Steven Spielberg – because he has directed a lot of
other action related films and a lot of the films he directs
(e.g. war horse) that portray lots of emotion.
• Our storyboard for the trailer of our film is on the next slide.

2. Our first scene is the poster that we
have made to show what the name of
our film is a well as the names of
who is in it. It will have some slower
music that will build as the trailer gets
to a certain point.
The next scene is of Tiffany Haddish
looking mysterious with the same
music that is at the begging and the
scenes will be quite dark.
This is similar to the last scene the
only difference I that it is introducing
the villain of the film. This is so the
main characters are introduced at the
beginning .
This is a scene of Ironheart fighting
but you wont see who its with.
This scene is of Black cat fighting but
again you don’t know who its with.
At this point the music has almost
fully faded out.
This part is of feet that are
completely dresses in black walking in
an alleyway with only the sound of
heels clicking.
This scene is the same as the last
just with red shoes instead of black
but still very mysterious.
Just before the end there is a quick
flash of black cats face…….
Followed by Ironhearts face . The last scene is the camera veering
off and the screen saying the release
date. And a voice saying be ready.

4. Our research on the hero:
• Why did we choose this superhero: Because she is a very
intelligent character and when she was just 5 years old she was
classed as a super genius. She also looks very interesting and her
costume is similar to iron man who is a very popular marvel
character.
• What parts of their history we will be drawing upon in our film’s
narrative: That her father died when she was young and also that
she has been intelligent from a very young age.
• Storylines that we are using in our film from the original film: That
she is a 15 year old engineering student and she lives with her
mother and aunt. Her father is dead. She also attends an institute
of technology.

5. • Their appearance: They look fairly similar but not exactly the same
however Tiffany Haddish has some features that will fit the looks of
Ironheart. We also think that Tiffany Haddish might bring a bit of
comedy to her character as a lot of films she acts in are comedy.
• There age: They are no where near the same age but we don’t think
that’s a problem (tiffany Haddish looks younger than she is).
Ironhearts character is 15 and tiffany Haddish is 40 but we were
thinking that the film can be set when Riri Williams (Ironheart) is
slightly older (about 25).
• Previous film genres/ if they ever played a superhero: Tiffany Haddish
hasn’t acted in any superhero films but has appeared in many comedy
films. We don’t think this is an issue (as previously mentioned) we
would love her to bring some humorous factors to our character.
Tiffany Haddish has acted in a film called ‘night school’ where she
plays a teacher which links to her character being smart.

6. Our research on the villain:
• Why we chose this villain: Because she looked very powerful, evil
and very appealing. She also has an amazing costume that has
an interesting history on why it is how it is.
• What parts of their history we will be drawing upon in our films
narrative: the narrative is that she was born in New York and that
her costume is in order to brake her father out of prison.
• Storylines that we are using in our film from the original film: the
main thing we will be borrowing from the original film is that
she taught herself her fighting skills. This is one of the reasons
that we chose to do this character as our villain.

7. • Their appearance: we think Elizabeth Gillies is perfect to play the role of black
cat in terms of looks. She also has an independent, strong personality that is
perfect to play her character.
• There age: we aren’t sure if they are the same age but that won’t matter
because Elizabeth Gillies is very fitting to the role.
• Previous film genres/ if they ever played a superhero: Elizabeth Gillies does
not have any experience in any superhero film however can be seen with a
gun a couple of times in the programme ‘Dynasty’ on Netflix she has also
acted in the horror film ‘Killing Daddy’. She appears to mainly play intelligent
characters. She also plays in a film where she is undermined by bigoted men
which we would like to add into our film.

8. Our research on the director:
• Have they directed a superhero film before: Steven Spielberg has not
directed any superhero movies but has directed many other action
movies for example ‘Jaws’.
• Has this director worked with our chosen actress? We don’t know if
they have worked together but we don’t think they have. Again we
don’t think this will be a problem. We think it would have been nice if
they had have worked together in the past so the actresses that we
have chosen don’t feel nervous but we are happy with our choices of
actresses and the director.
