Position: Lab Manager/Production Manager
Duties: To oversee the daily operations of a large scale, high-volume photography lab and its
staff – technicians, assistants and color correction specialists. Began at an entry-level position in
the Shipping Department, but over time expanded responsibilities to those of a positive,
influential leader in a salaried management position overseeing forty employees over two,
overlapping shifts. As Lab Manager, responsibilities involved supervision of employees over three
Durst Theta(s) 76-HS, one LPS 24 and seven Noritsu 34Pro(s). Maintained a daily product output
of between 50,000 to 120,000 prints/day (production volumes based on sales and varied
according to season.) Major Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain print quality and equipment at the highest of industry
standards.
- Communicate effectively among multiple shifts, departments and organizational
levels to ensure continuity and high quality, on-time product delivery.
- Train new hires on the principles of the photographic process and color theory for
application to the production process.
- Maintain color management and ICC profiling on all color correction stations and
printers. Generate machine/emulsion specific profiles and perform routine calibration
of monitors.
- Maintain and safely operate automated photochemical mixer and silver recovery
units to protect the physical infrastructure (plumbing, etc.) of the photographic
facility.
- Work with individual clients on customer-unique projects. Special requests included
custom framing/mounting, specific emulsion (and correct application of various ICC
profiling) print sizing, special color-management, etc.
- Assist customer service to respond to client questions/concerns related to any stage
of the end-to-end photographic process.
- Coordinate closely with the marketing team regarding planned sales events and
other initiatives to identify corresponding production capacity needs and adjust as
needed.
- Renew machine contracts, e.g., Noritsu, Durst, Kodak, based on forecasted sales
growth and other requirements.
- Maintain inventories of photographic paper, lab supplies and mechanical parts.
- Train staff on all safety procedures, (MSDS - Material Safety Data Sheets, JHA – Job
Hazard Analysis, Right-to-Know laws, etc.) including the use of personal protective
equipment, accidental release measures, and documentation as required by local,
state and Federal mandates (OSHA; NIOSH)
- Perform fire safety training, including drills in evacuation procedures.
- CPR/AED Certified.
- Forklift Certified.
Michael Bennett Kress & Associates October 2009– March 2010

Position: Re-toucher / Colorist
Duties: Worked as a secondary editor/re-toucher of images, including the airbrushing of skin and
hair, removal of exit signs, etc.; to enhance the photographs taken by the company’s various
photographers for final delivery to the clients.
The Stadium School Youth Dreamers October 2006 – May 2007
1300 Gorsuch Avenue - Baltimore, Maryland
Position: Photographer/Event Publicist
Duties: Documented various volunteer/social events including the student fashion show, the
construction of their Youth Center, and the organization’s annual benefit gala. Designed and
executed photo shoot of participating students; worked with graphic designers to produce
successful marketing for the event.
Internship: Oneira Graphics Inc. Summer 2006
628 S. Conking Street – Baltimore, Maryland
Position: Chief Advertising Photographer
Duties: Photographed all studio shoots for the design of advertisements. Maintained studio
equipment, selected models and wardrobe, organized and edited digital imagery.

Set Designer: Memorial Episcopal Musical Theater January – April 2008
Project Description: Researched and managed the design of imagery of the domestic interior to
be projected as part of the set of the musical production of Mame. Worked directly with set
designers and the technical aspects of the event’s final production (performed April 2008).
Research: The Digital Negative January – May 2007
Project Description: Worked and researched to discover and perfect a method of darkroom-
printing photographic images developed from digitally created negatives. This involved finding
the methods to make the two media of digital and analog occur with the same technical and
aesthetic results.

- Advanced Adobe Photoshop techniques, as well as digital imaging and its production.
- Adobe Suite/Adobe Lightroom
- KPARS (Kodak Professional Auto-Retouching Software)

post-production efforts.
- Expert camera knowledge in both digital and analog formats with 15 years of experience.
- Fully functional Microsoft Office Suite usage (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Accustomed to the automated or manual file management across digital media
platforms.

- Maintaining color accuracy/continuity across many employees to establish uniformity in
color output across a variety of media/substrates.
- Perfect color acuity score according to standard Farnsworth-Munsell hue tests. (X-rite)
