Dear Human Resources,
For the last four and a half years, I have maintained environmental compliance for
the 12 PG&E sites that I oversee as an Environmental Technician. All manifest
records have been up-to-date and logged appropriately. I have completed a wide
range of tasks from inspections, to waste removal, to ordering supplies, to training
and safety audits. No matter the task or assignment, I am up for the challenge. I
am not afraid of asking questions or learning from others. Situations continually
arise that require flexibility and I am able to adapt easily. My current employer
considers me a reliable self-starter, and my co-workers consider me to be
trustworthy and approachable.
Prior to working for PG&E, I worked for a variety of architecture, engineering, and
construction companies that taught me how to work in both the office and
construction site environments. I learned about instrument/tool cleaning,
maintenance, and inspections. Making sure one’s equipment is in good working
order and one is properly trained on how to operate the equipment will greatly
increase one’s safety. PPE is not just a good idea, but it’s a way of life.
In June of 2006, I received my bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minor in
Environmental Design from Cal Poly. I learned a great deal through my education
and my travels in Europe. Cal Poly fostered an environment of creativity and
problem solving, which prepared me for a variety of situations. At Cal Poly, my
passion grew for reducing impact to the environment, and protecting ourselves from
exposure to chemicals at home and in the work place.
With the ability to work in a group setting or independently, you can rely on my
flexibility to lead or follow. I am functional, methodical, and an organized person. I
feel I have a well-rounded approach to safety, health, and environmental
compliance. I am capable of completing a variety of both mental and physical tasks.
With these skills and a desire to learn, you can count on me to accomplish quality
outcomes for your company with enthusiasm and professionalism.
