It involves being physically active, eating a nutritious diet, and getting adequate rest. Physical fitness enables people to perform at their best and contributes to both physical and mental well-being. Leading a physically fit lifestyle provides health benefits not only for individuals but also for society as a whole.
3. Scully (1994) defined physical fitness as the
ability of an individual to carry out daily tasks
efficiently with enough physical capacity to
cope with the physical needs of life. Similarly,
a person is said to be physically fit if he/she
possesses the strength and stamina to carry
out his/her tasks without undue fatigue and
still has enough energy to enjoy leisure and to
cope with unforeseen emergencies.

function of physiological adaptation to
increased overload. It is best defined as the
activity aimed to improve your health. The goal
of health-related fitness is the prevention of
disease as well as the development of a high
level of functional capacity for daily tasks.
10. 1.Cardio-respiratory endurance
The ability of the heart, blood vessels, and the
lungs to take in and process oxygen in the body. It
draws both from cardiorespiratory fitness and
muscular endurance and reflects on how long one
can sustain any given physical activity.
Cardiorespiratory fitness is defined by the heart
and lungs' ability to deliver nutrients and oxygen.
11. 2. Strength
The ability of the muscles to exert force against a
resistance.
3. Muscular endurance
The ability of the muscles to use repeated
muscular contraction against resistance for a long
period.
12. 4. Joint flexibility
The ability of the joints to move throughout the
full range of movement.
5. Body composition
The percentage of fat, muscle, and bone in the
body. Body composition will typically be displayed as
either a percentage of fat (body fat percentage or
t) or as a percentage of lean body mass (LBM).
14. 1. Speed
The ability to make continuous movements of the
same kind in the shortest possible time.
2. Power
The ability of the muscles to release maximum force in
the shortest possible time.
3. Agility
The ability to change positions, movements, or
direction with quickness and lightness.
15. 4. Balance
The ability to control and maintain positions or
movement of the body. It is the state of equilibrium.
a.Static balance
The ability to keep one's composure in a fixed position.
b. Dynamic balance
The ability to maintain one's stability while the body is
in motion.
16. 5. Coordination
The ability to keep the harmonious functioning
of muscles in producing complex movements.
6. Reaction time
The ability of the body to react to the interval of
time between the signal to respond (stimulus) and
the beginning of the response.
17. BENEFITS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION
By participating in difference physical activities, an
individual can achieve the following benefits of physical
fitness.
1.Reduces of disease
2.Development of physical fitness components
3. Better Health
18. 4. Lowers cholesterol level
5. Builds stronger bones, joints and ligaments
6. Maintenance of optimal body weight
7. Improves the sleeping habit
8. Boosts in energy level
9. Improves appearance
