 Share prices on Bursa Malaysia ended lower today on selling pressure, sparked by the continuous fall in oil prices,
reduced demand and slower global growth,
 The Malaysian rubber market closed higher for the second consecutive day today, despite a stronger ringgit, lower
crude oil prices and weaker performance of the regional futures, a dealer said.
 The Malaysian Export Council was set up last week to monitor and enhance the country’s export performance, said
Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah. He said the council is chaired by the Prime Minister Datuk
Seri Najib Tun Razak while the working committee is headed by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
 Short-term interbank rates closed stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) intervention to absorb excess liquidity
from the financial system.The liquidity surplus in the conventional system rose to RM20.987 billion against RM20.415
billion estimated in the morning, while in the Islamic system, the excess declined to RM9.615 billion from RM12.003
billion.
 The ringgit closed slightly lower against the US dollar and mostly lower against other major currencies yesterday, riding
on weak crude oil prices, said a dealer.At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.4950/4980 against the US dollar from
3.4940/4960 recorded last Friday. The ringgit rose against the Singapore dollar to 2.6635/2676 from last Friday’s
2.6664/6691 but depreciated against the British pound to 5.4952/4006 from 5.4866/4919 previously.
 Malaysia Airlines’ unit, Malaysia Aerospace Engineering Sdn Bhd (MAE), has disposed its 44.61 per cent stake in MAS-
GMR Aerospace Engineering Company Ltd (MGAE), an aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) venture.In a
filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange, GMR Infrastructure Ltd informed that GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd
(GHIAL) a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, had on Dec 12, 2014 acquired 9,67,50,000 shares of Rs. 10 each
(RM0.55) representing a 44.61 per cent stake in MGAE from MAE for a nominal consideration.
 Rakuten Online Shopping aims to accelerate the development of the Malaysian e-commerce among small and medium
enterprises (SMEs).
 The number of companies registered for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) stood at 215,152 as of Dec 15, an increase of
3,796 over the weekend, said the Royal Malaysian Customs Department.The number of GST-registered companies has
now surpassed the government’s year-end target of 140,000.
