You walk into class, and your hands start to
get clammy. You sit down at your desk and
your heart begins to race. The teacher begins
to explain the parameters of the test and your
head begins to ache.
As she starts passing out the test you think to
yourself "I can’t do this" "I'm not ready" Your
vision becomes blurry as you examine the
questions on the paper.

Test anxiety in simplest terms is the fear of
failure one experiences before and during a
test.
It prevents you from performing as well as
you otherwise could.

6. So, how do I combat test anxiety?
Before your test:
Study! Study! Study!
Create a consistent pre-test routine, and
stick to it!
If you aren't understanding something,
ASK QUESTIONS!
Take advantage of a tutor or a study
group to help you know your stuff!
7. So, how do I combat test anxiety?
The day of your test:
Make sure that you've gotten plenty of
sleep
Eat a good breakfast
Practice POSITIVE self talk
YOU CAN DO THIS!!
8. Test Time...
During the test:
Continue your positive self talk if necessary.
Read all directions carefully
Remember to breathe!
If need be, practice deep-breathing to self soothe
If you are struggling with a particular problem, skip it for now..
Complete the problems you know, and then come back to any you may have
skipped.
