1. Cell Phones for Soldiers Neiman Marcus Unveiled
In support of troops stationed
around the world, Chevrolet has
partnered with Cell Phones for
Soldiers, Big Machine Records and
95.7 WKML in Fayetteville to
challenge local high school students
with a cell phone collection drive to
benefit nonprofit Cell Phones for
Soldiers. The collaborative effort will
provide prepaid, international calling
cards so military members serving
overseas can call home for free.
“We are so proud to partner with a
worthy charity like Cell Phones for
Soldiers and to have the opportunity
to engage like-minded
organizations like Big Machine
Records and WKML in Fayetteville,”
said Tom Gilbert, Chevrolet Regional
Marketing Manager - Southeast
Region. “It will be a fun competition
for high school students and will truly
make a difference in the lives of our
deployed soldiers.”
Each Chevrolet dealership in the
Fayetteville area will collaborate with
a local high school, awarding the one
winning school with a private concert
from country music duo, Steel
Magnolia. The duo, made up of
Meghan Linsey and Josh Jones, won
season two of the television
talent show Can You Duet, and were
nominated for a 2011 ACM for Top
New Duo or Group Artists. They are
best known for their single “Keep On
Lovin’You.” The runner up school
will receive a pizza party. (ONE
