Sodium Hydroxide: $0.73 per gram
Boric Acid: $4.00-$7.00 per gram
Buffer solution: $70.00 for 500 mL

*Unlike Helix Corp., we rely on quality materials to help make durable, long lasting
products. With these agar plates, we also test them for Quality Control, just like the 20X
SB Buffer.
6. QC 20x SB Buffer by Gel Electrophoresis
After diluting the 20x SB Buffer and making 1x
SB buffer, we performed a QC on the gel. The
bubbles formed from the negative/positive side of
the chamber verified the presence of a current,
and an absence of boiling in the buffer proved
our success. On the right, you can see that the
substance had run through the gel.
7. QC of LB, LB/Amp, and
LB/Amp/ARA plates
Here are Before and After observational pictures that were taken to keep record of our QC. We tested
the agar plates to confirm that the Ampicillin and Arabinose were working efficiently. We spread non-
transformed bacteria on LB/Amp and LB/Amp/Ara plates labeled P-. As you can see, there was no
significant growth on the top 2 plates which is good because that means that the Amp is killing the
bacteria.
