population of English Language Learners from refugee or migrant families
with low socioeconomic status. In this role I also perform the duties of
Special Education Compliance Facilitator and conduct monthly
compliance reports for the district.

The role of compliance facilitator is to manage and adhere to all
compliance standards, liaison between the school and district EC
department, develop competency of school based special education
teams, and support in the planning, scheduling, and running of all EC
cases at the assigned school.
• Monitor status of case managers meeting timelines for annual IEPs and
reevaluations.
• Manage the out-of-state transfer process
• Coordinate Child Count responsibilities with case managers.
• Communicate with the compliance team regarding compliance
status and completion of actions identified on compliance reports
• Participate in central office Compliance Update meetings
• Communicate with MTSS teams and administrators to ensure
students being referred to EC have all required components to
enable IEP teams to determine eligibility.

Leadership
I have had the opportunity to work as our school’s compliance facilitator and
Special Education Team Lead. In this role I have had the opportunity to lead a
team of professionals in order to ensure we are upholding the rights of all
students and providing the necessary assessments and services to students. I
have also had numerous opportunities to lead Professional Development for
teachers to ensure their understanding of the IEP process and special
education requirements.
