Copyright:
Copyright is the exclusive and assignable legal right, given to the originator for a fixed
number of years, to print, publish, perform, film, or record literary, artistic, or musical
material. There is a copyright law that states that another person or company cannot copy
your work. However if a company or person tries to take your work without person, this is
when the copyright law comes into place. Once the copyright is in place, people are not able
to steal your work or replicate it. The copyright law also states another person cannot take
your ideas and replicate them. Therefore, without a person’s permission none of this can
take place. However, when a person grants their permission for other individuals to use
their work or idea, it usually means it involves some sort of payment or agreement.
Most people decide to use copyright to protect their idea or work. But if someone decides
to use another person idea that has been placed under copyright, this can lead to that
person being used as it is against the copyright law. By following copyright law and having a
piece of work underneath copyright, it enables the work to be protected over a period of
time. However a film can be protected for 70 years. Once copyright has expired, this meand
that the work is now public and can be copied or remade by anyone.
