Shopping Center and oversees several retail spaces in San
Diego, CA. Engaged in his profession outside of his daily
duties, Elliot Feuerstein maintains membership in the
International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
ICSC routinely gathers and extrapolates data in order to
provide both top-level and deep-dive analyses of trends
affecting the shopping center space. At the end of 2018, the
organization conducted a survey of different demographic
types to gauge their holiday shopping habits. Overall, the
survey found that 70 percent of adults visited either a
shopping center or a mall during the holidays, and an
overwhelming 93 percent of shoppers said they spent money
at stores that had some sort of physical footprint.
In terms of shoppers who bought online and picked up items
in store, 86 percent of them ended up making another in-
store purchase when they came to pick up their online
