VERTEBRATE ANIMALS
VITAL FUNCTIONS
• All human beings have three vital functions:
• NUTRITION
• INTERACTION
• REPRODUCTION
NUTRITION
• It is the process of taking in food and turning it into
energy.
• Food contains substances called nutrients.
• That process help us grow and gives us energy.
INTERACTION
• It describes the relationship that we have with the world
around us.
• We receive information from outside by the senses and
we react to them.
REPRODUCTION
• It is essential for any living species
to survive.
• We reproduce to make sure that
other humans continue to live after
we die.
• This is the process of making and giving birth to a
baby.
CLASIFICATION
• There are two kinds of animals
• VERTEBRATES: they have skeleton
• INVERTEBRATES: they don’t have skeleton
VERTEBRATES ANIMALS
• There are 5 groups of vertebrates:
• MAMMALS
• BIRDS
• FISH
• REPTILES
• AMPHIBIANS
MAMMALS
• Mammals have HAIR in the body
• They have extremities:
-Legs – the dog
- Fins – the dolphins
- Wings – the bat
Most of them are VIVIPAROUS
. They breath by LUNGS
. In the mouth, they have TEETH
MAMMALS
DOG CAT LION GIRAFFE
ELEPHANT DOLPHIN SHEEP HORSE
REPTILES
• Reptiles have SCALES IN THE BODY
SNAKE CROCODILE TURTLE
AMPHIBIAN
• Amphibians have NUDE SKIN
FROG SALAMANDER
QUESTIONS
• What are the names of the three vital functions?

  • 2. VITAL FUNCTIONS • All human beings have three vital functions: • NUTRITION • INTERACTION • REPRODUCTION
  • 3. NUTRITION • It is the process of taking in food and turning it into energy. • Food contains substances called nutrients. • That process help us grow and gives us energy.
  • 4. INTERACTION • It describes the relationship that we have with the world around us. • We receive information from outside by the senses and we react to them.
  • 5. REPRODUCTION • It is essential for any living species to survive. • We reproduce to make sure that other humans continue to live after we die. • This is the process of making and giving birth to a baby.
  • 6. CLASIFICATION • There are two kinds of animals • VERTEBRATES: they have skeleton • INVERTEBRATES: they don’t have skeleton
  • 7. VERTEBRATES ANIMALS • There are 5 groups of vertebrates: • MAMMALS • BIRDS • FISH • REPTILES • AMPHIBIANS
  • 8. MAMMALS • Mammals have HAIR in the body • They have extremities: -Legs – the dog - Fins – the dolphins - Wings – the bat Most of them are VIVIPAROUS . They breath by LUNGS . In the mouth, they have TEETH

  • 10. REPTILES • Reptiles have SCALES IN THE BODY SNAKE CROCODILE TURTLE
  • 11. AMPHIBIAN • Amphibians have NUDE SKIN FROG SALAMANDER
