Pearson, Centennial, CO September 2013 – Present
Technical Solutions Manager
At Pearson I managed multi-million dollar cross functional and cross program portfolios. These included the
Globalization of our product portfolio; eCommerce solutions; Security Governance; and Infrastructure initiatives. I
worked with executive stakeholders to understand the initiatives and acted as the Product Owner for those initiatives. I
also performed the role of Program Manager for all security and infrastructure projects working with over a hundred
individual development teams. I developed several initiatives including standard maintenance of servers in our various
data centers.
Sr. Technical Agile Project Manager/Product Owner
I managed 3 Scrum teams implementing complex learning applications. I transitioned teams from doing Agile to thinking
agile. I enabled all teams to be self-managing teams, empowered to make decisions and produce excellent software. I

Policy Studies, a health care provider and technology firm, I held the position of Sr. IT Project Manager/Scrum Master.
I was responsible for improving the efficiency of Scrum team running the largest group of projects in PSI with a $3M
annual budget for new functionality. I focused primarily on process improvement within development, business
analysis and QA. I repaired a very adversarial relationship between the customer and the IT department. I estimated
and managed the first profitable enhancement to the core software product. My team consisted of 18 developers, QA
testers, Business Analysts and Product Owners.
CTCi, a conceptual technology and consulting startup, I was the part-time CTO. I developed their strategic technology
roadmap to define the systems, processes and tools necessary to support the vision. I developed project plans for
specific initiatives and managed the implementations. I employed Scrum for both development and functional efforts.
I wrote all stories and acceptance criteria for the CRM and SharePoint implementations and was responsible for
grooming and prioritizing the backlog.
Contact Business Systems, a startup focused in the cloud CRM market, I directed and implemented numerous
Microsoft CRM implementations requiring significant customization and integrations, including requirements analysis,
feasibility, solution architecture, implementation and training. Provided project management and budget
management for multiple, concurrent projects in various stages of implementation.
I wrote all stories and acceptance criteria for each implementation and worked directly with the customers on backlog
prioritization.
American Humane Association, Englewood, CO October 2008 – May 2011
Director of Business Solutions/CIO (Product Owner for all technical projects)
I was responsible for the day to day management of IT, all technology vendors and internal software development for a
160+ person, international non-profit with offices in eight states with a budget of $1.2M per year.
I worked closely with the COO and executive management to develop a three-year technology vision and roadmap to
align with the organization’s strategic expansion plan.
I employed Scrum to manage all technology projects and trained the executives, staff and key stakeholders to ensure a
successful implementation. I wrote all of the stories and acceptance criteria for each project.
As budget cuts required me to reduce the software development team I assumed a large portion of the .NET and SQL
Server development.
I was responsible for the most major implementation in the company, the Raiser’s Edge CRM implementation for fund
raising and donor relations.
Qortex, Englewood, CO December 2006 – October 2008
Director of Delivery
I joined Qortex to assist with delivery process improvements, software development and project management. During
my first six months I worked closely with executive management and the development team to identify challenges in the
processes. I provided training and education on the benefits of Agile/Scrum and implemented those changes. I
developed custom TFS templates and integrated them with Project Server to provide automation and customer
reporting.
I managed our 10+ developers on numerous .NET, SQL Server, MS Commerce Server, SharePoint and MS CRM
implementations. I also provided software development, requirements analysis, estimations and functional testing for
these efforts.
3t Systems, Denver, CO March 2004 – November 2006
Technical Director
I started with 3t as a Microsoft .NET developer implementing custom solutions for customers in the mortgage industry.
After three months I assumed the management of my practice, consisting of 20+ consultants. I was ultimately
responsible for the success of every project delivered by my practice, the P&L for my practice and all hiring decisions.

In less than a year I increased revenue for the practice 250% to $6M per year and stemmed turnover from 60% to less
than 10%.
I converted the practice, as well as the BA group and PMO, from fixed price quotes and waterfall implementations to
Agile/Scrum immediately. I wrote all stories and acceptance criteria with the customers.
Bespoke Technologies, Denver, CO May 2002 – March 2004
CEO/Product Owner
I started Bespoke to deliver high quality software solutions to budget constrained startups after the .COM collapse.
Using Agile/Scrum techniques and careful alignment of high-value functionality to budget we helped dozens of
companies implement the technology required for their businesses.
As well as day to day business operations, finance and HR I also provided significant software development in .NET, SQL
Server, SharePoint and Microsoft CRM.
In partnership with the Paradine Group I took on the role of Product Owner in the development of a restaurant POS
system. I performed market research and competitive analysis and developed all of the stories and acceptance criteria
for the effort.

In 1998 I assumed leadership of the software development practice. I managed 10 custom software development
resources. I was responsible for $150,000 per month in revenue.
I had responsibility for closing opportunities, identifying customer requirements, architecting and managing all software
projects for the company. I was responsible for all hires in my practice and had ultimate responsibility to customer
satisfaction on all deliverables.
Transitioned the software development practice to Agile in 1999 and rolled it out to our customers. After adopting Agile
our project margins increased significantly and customer satisfaction was high. I owned the backlog for all software
projects and worked directly with customers to write stories and acceptance criteria.

From 1996-1998 I owned business analysis, planning and the roadmap for a retail time and billing system for Silver State
Software, a subsidiary of Winfield Allen.
