Place Replicate Enhancements
What does it do
• New enhancements provide support for
– Drag & drop mapping of modules to new stack-ups
– Replication of non-etch & unconnected elements
– Regions, text, lines, keepouts, etc.
Benefits
• Modules can now be re-used with differing or larger stack-ups
– HDI vias will adjust to keep connectivity
– Modules auto-save under new names
– Embedded component layers can be mapped to other embedded
layers

Dynamic Shape Quality Initiative
• Major effort towards improving the quality of dynamic shape voiding with over 100
CCRs addressed in this QIR
• Users should not experience abnormalies referred to as spikes or slits in shapes
• This will reduce or eliminate the need to add oversize clearance properties as a
workaround to the issue
– If this condition presents itself, Cadence would appreciate a testcase if possible to correct
• In development, new mode to improve voiding response time
– “Fast” mode to replace “Rough” mode
– Unsupported Prototype in QIR6
– Grid are voiding improves performance significantly

Misc. Enhancements
• Copy/Paste Update
– The “Paste” operation now supports a “Retain net of shapes” option that will allow the user to decide if the
copied shape should retain the net or allow to be inherited by the destination object
– The default setting has the “Retain net of shapes” option enabled preserving current default behavior
• Basic PDF Export
– Available to all OrCAD and Allegro PCB Editor products, a non-intelligent PDF Export command provides
a method to print 2D PDF without tree structures and meta data
– This version of PDF Export becomes available if the PDF Publisher license is not found
