AN OVERVIEW:
The Counter Terrorism Conference and Expo focuses on the theme:
“STRENGTH THROUGH KNOWLEDGE” and will seek to empower over 200
delegates who have a strategic, operational or vested interest in developing
and/or implementing policies, plans and procedures designed to manage the
risks associated with the threat.
It will also address issues faced by those tasked with strategic responsibility to
develop the plans required to address the threat posed by Global Terrorism.
The conference will assemble Security experts drawn from Kenya and East
Africa who deal with this threat on a daily basis. The delegates, who will also
include our global partners, will share the burden of managing risks associated
with Global terrorism in conflict zones across the world.
Unlike similar events which tend to focus on this crucial issue, we want to
make sure THIS Conference is grounded in the reality of addressing the
current & emerging terrorist threats in East Africa with a particular focus on
the threat facing Kenya. We will look at the current and potential impact of
Terrorist activity across the region. We will explore the CONCEPT of terrorist
activity, examine its strategic goals and analyse the lessons learnt at a strategic
level from recent terrorist activities across East Africa.
The Counter Terrorism Conference will also feature a comprehensive Counter
Terrorism Expo- a strategic opportunity for the East African market to get first
hand exposure to the latest products and services being deployed in the war
on Terrorism.
Across the world, those tasked with responsibility to manage the terrorist
threat have worked to develop the latest in technology and methodologies
to maximum effect. We wanted to create a platform through which industry
stakeholders can be exposed to the latest trends in the use of technology.
We bring this capacity to East Africa for the very first time and welcome all
who seek to share the burden of addressing the threats we all face across the
world right now.
THE COUNTER TERRORISM CONFERENCE
AND EXPO
THE COUNTER TERRORISM EXPO
It will be the 1st such event of its kind in East Africa. The two day event will
take place on the 16th & 17th July, 2015 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nairobi
and will feature a customized conference and interactive EXPO during which
we address some of the most topical and relevant security challenges facing
Kenya today.
6 E.A Counter Terrorism Conference & Expo 7E.A Counter Terrorism Conference & Expo
Concurrent with the Counter Terrorism Conference and Expo, we wanted to take the opportunity
to acknowledge the sacrifices made by so many individuals across the political, social and
corporate divide, our Doctors, our Nurses, our Teachers, members of the disciplined services and
most of all we acknowledge the sacrifice made by so many individual families who have borne
the brunt of the human suffering caused by those who seek to terrorise our communities. On the
night of the 16th July, a unique Gala Dinner will be hosted at the Crowne Plaza Hotel to “SALUTE
OUR HEROES”.
Salute our Heroes is an opportunity for Kenyan’s to reflect on the reality that terrorism by its
nature seeks to divide us and yet in the midst of such evil, humanity prevails and so we reach out
to our neighbour to acknowledge their suffering and their determination to create a better future
for all who dare to dream of a country at peace with itself and its neighbors.
It is an opportunity to stand with Kenyansfrom all walks of life, to stand with those who have been
at the forefront in our battle with the terrorist threat. We want to acknowledge their sacrifice as
we celebrate the indomitable human spirit and its tenacity to rise to the challenge.
SALUTE OUR HERO’S

8 E.A Counter Terrorism Conference & Expo 9E.A Counter Terrorism Conference & Expo
• An Iconic event that sets the benchmark for a Customized East African Counter Terrorist
Conference and Expo.
• An event that positions our SHARED CAPACITY to work together to mitigate and manage risk
and ensure that agenda is at the forefront of the debate going forward.
• An event that genuinely inspires and empowers all tasked with this onerous responsibility to
appreciate that they need never walk that journey alone.
• An event that CELEBRATES our Diversity and defies those who seek to divide us by
demonstrating our shared vision of a better future for all who dare to live in peace with our
neighbour.
• We see EACT as a unique opportunity which will showcase that while Kenya may be a Country
challenged like so many others by the threat of terrorism it is also a country that continues to
take the lead in the development of our internal capacity to manage this threat by engaging
with each other and our partners.
KEY STRATEGIC GOALS OF
THE SHOW
10 E.A Counter Terrorism Conference & Expo 11E.A Counter Terrorism Conference & Expo
Delegates attending the conference are drawn from public and private sectors.
If you have responsibilities related to the development of policy or procedures that address the threat posed
by terrorism, the conference is a MUST ATTEND for you.
If you are deployed in a role that gives you responsibilities at a tactical or operational level whether in the
Public sector or the private sector, this is a MUST ATTEND EVENT.
If you have a role to play in the development or implementation of risk mitigation solutions, if you are
currently studying in the field of Criminology, Security studies or you work in the private security industry in
a management position then by definition you represent our capacity to manage this threat in the years and
decades to come and so this is a must attend event for those tasked with that onerous responsibility.
Strength Through Knowledge defines us all and challenges those in authority to appreciate the very onerous
task to ensure we manage our mandate responsibility by initiating the necessary precautions in our quest to
play a leadership role in our nation’s battle for a better future or all citizens who seek to live in peace with our
neighbours.
