3. Project Conceptualization
Junior Editor was conceptualized to enable students to better understand the role and
nuances of journalism and news reporting that impacts everyone’s lives everyday’.
Newspaper reading should not be limited to hard news, therefore we pushed the
boundaries and brought reality and imagination face to face with out-of-box thinking in
terms of news of the future, cartoon caricatures, obituary of a tiger and a sparrow, time
travel to fix the past, matrimonial of an elephant and a mouse, soap advertisementwhich can wash-off corruption and other social-ills from society.
We also wanted to sensitize the participants and their family about various socioeconomic concerns as well, like, the importance of elders in our families, prevalent
malpractices of child labor and the value of a vote to build a strong and democratic
nation.
