Achievements
Engineering Supervisor:
Supervised and coordinated training for Naval electricians in the operation and
maintenance of the ship’s electrical power generators and distribution system, interior
communications and other associated systems. Results: Trained more than 250
personnel in electrical safety and tag-out training.
As the Main Propulsion Assistant, I was responsible for the operational care and
maintenance of the ship's propulsion machinery, boilers, auxiliaries, and various
administrative logs. Results: Coordinated the care, storage, expenditure and payment
of fuels by developing watch bills for personnel and making payments to vendors .
Leadership and Training Development: While deployed to Kuwait, provided
leadership and training for over 35 military law enforcement personnel servicing three
separate military installations. Results: Awarded the Joint Commendation Medal
during the deployment. Inspected and enforced standards for multi-million dollar
contracts providing ambulance, fire and other emergency services.
Senior Staff Communications: Prepared hundreds of decision making information
packages for a four star general. Joint Commendation MedalThese decision support
papers, and supporting documents affected US Counter-drug policy and strategy
throughout Central America. Results: Awarded the Joint Commendation Medal and
received heavy praise from senior officer throughout a 4 Star General's staff.
Program Management: Managed Operation Central Skies ($500,000), a counter
narcotics initiative for Central America, allowing Central American countries the
opportunity to request helicopter support to respond to a variety of emerging drug
trafficking events by communicating with foreign countries and US embassies. Results:
One operation resulted in the seizure of 430 kilos of cocaine. Coordinated entire visit
itineraries for several Distinguished Visitors. Provided coordination and funding to El
Salvador Armed Forces to conduct High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle
(HMMWV) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) training.
2. Team Building: Led a team of force protection professionals to design, construct, and
maintain physical security of three separate Installations in a combat zone. Results:
Awarded the Joint Commendation Medal and passed a major Force Protection
Inspection covering 7 installations.
Presentations Coordinated with shipboard personnel and various media outlets to
publish positive stories regarding to US Naval activities. Results: Published several
articles in US Navy magazines (Surface Warfare Magazine/July 2001) and newspapers
as the Public Affairs Officer.

ensuring proper integration and support of national and host-nation policies, strategies,
and exercise programs.
Coordinated logistics, monitored Counter-Narco Terrorism operations, provided tracking
of exercise forces, and other multi-national operations.
Main Propulsion Assistant/Division Officer, USS HARPERS FERRY. Dec
02 –Jul 04 Responsible to the Chief Engineering Officer for the operational, care, and
maintenance of the ship’s propulsion machinery, boilers, auxiliaries, and various
administrative logs. Managed a division of 23 personnel in combat and electronic
warfare operations. Qualified as the Engineer of the Watch (EOOW) within six months.
Typically takes 18 months to qualify.
3. Division Officer, USS CROMMELIN (Navy Ensign/Lieutenant) Dec 1999 –
Dec 2002:
Supervised the training and qualification of over 250 personnel in electrical safety and
tag-out training. Qualified Surface Warfare Officer, Officer of the Deck (underway) and
Combat Information Center Watch Officer (underway) well ahead of peers.
