• Diagnosed malignancy or stricture affecting
the esophagus
• Case history of irradiation therapy of the chest
or the esophagus
• Malignancy of the throat, larynx, trachea,
bronchi and stomach
• Esophagorespiratory fistula
• Esophageal bleeding due to injury of the
upper GIT
