2. My Motivation:
I am a strong-willed female. I chose to become an active
participant in our political system so that my voice could
be heard. I don’t want to depend on anyone else to
determine my fate or outcome. The only way I can
prevent this from occurring is by actively participating
and making a difference. One thing I would like to see
implemented are term-limits for congressmen. This
would allow for new opinions and refreshing ideas. One
thing I would like to see stay the same is the amount of
active women in the political system.
3. Lessons Learned:
• This class has allowed me to gain a much better
understanding of our political system. Being a year
full of political events and being enrolled in this
course I learned a extensive amount of information
regarding how the presidency actually works. I
learned that the president has little power and that
the congress the majority of the power. Through this
course I have had the desire to dig deeper into
learning about the presidents role in running this
nation.
4. Important Issue:
• I believe the most important issue that is
applicable to future generations is motivating
and educating on the importance of voting
and the role it plays in our society. The
forthcoming generation will one day be
running our country. It is important for the
next generation to be educated and informed
to further advance the nation to succeed.
5. Most Important
Amendment:
• I believe the 2nd amendment is the most important of
the 27 amendments. This particular amendment
allows the citizens of the United States to protect
themselves. In every situation it cannot be assumed
that the government or law enforcement will be
present to protect us. There are many countries
across the world where it is illegal to own a gun. I am
reassured by the idea that if something were to
occur that I could protect my family.
6. Take Away:
Through this course I have learned that voting is
the foundation of the USA and it starts with the
American citizens. When the people vote they
create a domino effect that plays a role in the
entire political system and how it will be
managed for the next four years. I realized how
important voting is and I plan to educate my
children in the importance of filling out a ballot.
