ACTIVITY 2
THEME: MY LIFE
2. My name is Doménica. I’m 21 years old and
I’m the young of three children.
I live with my parents and siblings, but given
the pandemic circumstances my niece is
living with us too at the moment.
I have got a big family and here is a picture
of all of us together in Yambo Lake.
MY FAMILY
3. My mother’s name is Sonia.
She is from Otavalo, but she has lived
in Quito since she started studying at
Central University.
She’s 57 years old. She’s the most
caring an emotional woman. She has
thought me to be sincere with my
feelings and that’s what I really admire
from her.
She is a psychologist and in a school.
My father is Ricardo. He is 64 years old.
He is a civil engineer.
I have got other two siblings from his side,
Alejandra and Sebastian. We have a great
distance in ages, but we are still close and
meet frequently.
My dad is the most intelligent person I
know. You can talk with him about any topic
you can imagine and he’s very likely to know
about it.
My parents
• These are my parents
in Pululahua.
4. My sister
Tania is my older sister.
She is 35 years old. I always bother her for being the
older one.
She studied Business Management at Central University.
She lives in Ibarra, but she has moved with us during the
Covid-19 cuarantine. That means that we have more time
too spend together.
I admire her strong personality and the way she’s able to
deal over problems without giving up.• This is a picture of my sister
and I during the Christmas
dinner.
5. My brother
Our brother Pablo is the middle one.
He was born in Atuntaqui.
He’s 32 years old now although next week he’s
turning 33.
He is a mechanical engineer graduated from EPN.
He has a 12 year-old daughter.
He is usually travelling because of work, so even
though we live together I don’t see him often.
He’s plenty of pieces of advice for me and always
encourages me with my projects, he is also a very
sensitive person and doesn’t hesitate in showing it.
• My brother Pablo loves sushi and
this picture is the evidence
6. My niece
My niece’s name is Samanta.
She’s my brother’s daughter.
Samy is 12 years old and lives with her
mom in Quito.
She’s a student of first grade in
Secondary School.
We are spending more time together
because she is in my house during the
time the lock down lasts. I love her as
if she was my little sister.
• Don’t we look like sisters?
7. My Grandparents
(mom side)
My mom’s family is from Imbabura, they
have been living in Ibarra for decades now.
I used to spend a lot of time in Ibarra when I
was a kid, my grandparents used to take me
to their house as soon as I finished the
school term, there I spend time with them,
my aunt Tere and my cousin Andrea.
Miguel Angel and Beatriz are my grand
parents, but we prefer calling them Miangito
and Bachi.
My grandpa was a bus driver when he was
younger and we used to travel a lot.
My grandma Bachi passed away 3 years ago.
• Those are my grandparents,
my aunt, my cousin and I in a
trip in 2016.
8. My grandmother’s name is Teresa but we all
call her Abi.
Aby is 94 years old now and she is from Quito,
but lives in Tumbaco.
She has a lot of grandchildren, for that reason
I couldn’t spend as much time in her house as
with my other grandparents, but it doesn’t
mean I don’t love her a lot. I love being with
her and listen to her stories.
My grandfather Pablo passed away years
before I was born, but all my family tells me
stories about him. Anyway, we refer to him as
Tata.
