Assure Plan
The assure plan I decide to write about is the one to teach the activities involved on the
fourth of July to foreign students that are visually impaired. The first step is to analyze the
learners. I realize they all have two things in common which is they are all blind and from
Russia. This allows me to get a general idea of there background and way to be teaching them.
Another thing is to come to the United States and take this class, they all have interest in our
culture. The next step in the assure plan is to state objectives. My objective statement is: “Over
this week in class, I will be teaching my students about the activities involved with the Fourth of
July. I will do this by explaining certain details of the day by using all other four senses to
explain things such as fireworks. There will also be a “Fourth of July” party where they will eat
some of Americas traditional foods. The final thing is tell them the relations between ours and
their independence day. I expect them to be able to demonstrate this activities at a 90%
accuracy.” The media and materials are tricky about this layout. I wouldn’t use much media
other then like youtube. The materials I would have to have would be food, confetti, and other
things I can use to teach towards their other sense. The use of youtube would be purely audio to
give them an understanding of traditional music and common sounds on the day. The food
would be use to give them a taste of what we eat on our independence day. Then I would uses
random items like confetti to demonstrated what fireworks are like by slamming a desk then
rubbing the confetti together to create that crackling after sound. The final two steps are
basically everything else combined, the students will be require to participate and should off
2. their knowledge during our celebration. My evaluation of the project is that this assure plan
really hits on all the senses which is needed when you have students that rely on other senses
then sight.
