Verisk (NASDAQ: VRSK) acquired Argus
Information on FALL 2012 for $425M
Maintains its offices in Australia, Brazil, Canada,
USA and UK and has over 500 clients over the
world.
4. BUSINESS ROLES OF ARGUS
Syndicated Benchmark studies based on consumer cards, consumer
transactions, and installment loans.
Adviosry and Analytical Services to help its clients make better business
decisions such a marketing offer optimization, branch and ATM
optimization;
Provides data hosting and maintenance solutions for financial instutitions;
Observe database for credit card, debit card, and deposit transactions in
the industry;
Works with media companies to measure the effectiveness of an
advertising campaign through radio, TV or display online ads.
6. ROLES AS AN INTERN
Work under direct supervision of Data & Application
Solutions Associate Team Manager
Create a Daily Move Report and Troubleshooting errors;
Heavy use of Microsoft Excel to perform jobs everyday
Pull files from SFTP and load a table into specific database;
Creating and pushing tickets, creating/moving tables,
develop SQL codes that perform job in a easy way;

CONS:
Wasting your energy and time as a full time
student on long distance commute
Transportation expenses is way expensive than
NYC MetroCard
One year commitment is required to maintain
as Intern position
Eye strain due to continuously looking monitor
screen for long hours
9. RECOMMENDATION TO INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
Collaborate with more of the government and
private organizations to find intern position for City
Tech Students
Educate and provide more resources to students
on finding internship without fully depending on
Professional Development Center
Offer and attend meetings or seminar to offer
more internship programs for current and future
students
