Sheridan Marketing Association (SMA) - Davis
Sheridan Marketing Association (SMA) Executives provide extra leadership in
guiding the organization as they work with leaders and members to build
marketing and general business experience. They put in additional effort and
follow through on all the association activities contributing to a range of marketing
experience. This experience includes guiding the team to do exceptional
marketing for other campus groups and some outside organizations. The SMA
also organizes events such as The Entrepreneur event and the Search Engine
Connection event. Skills such as organization, creativity, team, interpersonal and
promotion are enhanced and developed. Students learn to motivate a variety of
people and personalities reflecting the real marketing world that promotes
discussion, influence and creativity. Executives inspire leaders and members of
the SMA to build confidence in themselves and their ideas! The minimum number
of participation hours is 50.

events to further the student experience. Executives organize career and small
business events which assist them with gaining experience working as a team
and with developing their business skills; business skills include organization,

3. Sheridan students can continue to pursue their learning, professional development, and personal growth outside of the classroom by participating in co-curricular record
(CCR) activities.
This CCR is an official institutional document that formally recognizes the student’s participation in co-curricular activities. Academic credit is not provided for participating in
these activities.
Activities recognized by Sheridan as co-curricular in nature include student life programs, student leadership development programs, community engagement activities,
athletic programs, research projects and team projects.
The co-curricular activities listed in Sheridan’s CCR Opportunities Directory must meet the following criteria:
• Provide students with meaningful learning experiences that support personal and professional growth and development;
• Have an identifiable link to Sheridan College (all activities must be led by Sheridan staff members and validated by Sheridan staff members);
• Students do not receive any academic credit for their participation; and
• The minimum participation time for any CCR activity cannot be less than 10 hours.
To ensure that the activities listed in Sheridan’s CCR Opportunities Directory meet the program’s criteria, all activities have been reviewed, evaluated and approved by
Sheridan’s CCR program administrators.
