It is usually set on the
front top of the drum.
The circular bent
bourdon tube is closed at
one end and connected
at the other end to U
tube.The siphon is filled
with water to prevents
gauge cool.
3. Working :::
When pressure is apply to inside of bourdon
tube is cross section tends to become
circular and free end of bourdon tube try to
become straight. So turning the spindle by
the links and gearing. So the niddle moves
and indicate the pressure.
4. Water level indicator :::
Construction :-
Normally two water level
indicator are fitted at the
front end of every boiler. It
consist three cocks as
steam cock , water cock
and drain cock.This steam
cock is connect with steam
space of boiler. While water
cocks connect with water
in the boiler, the drain cock
is use to drain out the
water from the glass tube.
5. Working :::
When steam and water cock opened steam
rushes from upper side and water from lower
passage.This will indicate the level water in the
boiler.Two balls are places at the junction of the
metal tube. In normal condition the balls are
kept as shown in fig. in case the glass tube is
broken steam will rushes from upper cases and
water from lower passage.The balls are caries
along the passage to the ends of glass tube and
than close the passage.Thus flow of water and
steam out of boiler is prevented.
6. Steam stop valve :::
Construction :-
It is set to the boiler at the
highest part of the steam
space.The main body of the
valve is made of cast iron
and valve seat made from
gun metal.The lower ends
of spindle connected to
valve and upper end pass
through gland and yoke and
connected with hand wheel.
The gland is use to prevent
the leakage of steam.
7. Working :::
With the help of hand wheel spindle valve
move up and down when the valve seats over
the valve seat the passage of steam is
completely close. By moving the valve up and
down the steam moving out side.
