THE INTERSECTION MINISTRIES
Some things just keep getting better and better! We are all
familiar with the INTERSECTION Free Store in Evart. This
free clothing ministry is just one of the offerings the Sears-
Barryton Parish of the United Methodist Church (UMC) has
brought to our community. This parish of churches includes
Sears UMC, Brooks Corner UMC and Barryton Faith UMC.
Not only have we enjoyed “like-new” clothing at no-charge
but a free community dinner every Saturday night and the
newest addition … a “Free Ride Van” to pick you up!
Free clothing … free dinners … free transportation … but
now there’s more! Every second Friday night of the month,
Brooks Corner UMC will host a FREE MOVIE NIGHT for the
community. That’s right … FREE MOVIE NIGHT complete
with popcorn, hotdogs and drinks. Transportation will also
be provided for those in Evart that are in need of a ride. “The
INTERSECTION Ministries of the parish are here to serve the
local community in the spirit of Christ’ love,” stated Pastor
Joe Beavan. “Our doors are open to everyone, all people,
created in the image of God, and if a person is in need we will
be there!”
The INTERSECTION Ministries have enabled many in our
community to find the help that has been absent through
other organizations. Hundreds of meals have been served
over the past few years and over 25,000 items of like new
clothing have been distributed. “One of the needs of the
community is transportation to our churches on Sunday
mornings. Very soon we will be offering a free ride to the
Brooks Corner UMC for our 10:00am traditional worship!”
said Pastor Beavan.
