2. Definition of Recount Text
Recount is a text which retells events or
experiences in the past.
Purpose : To inform or to entertain the
audience.
3. Generic Structure
Text Structure:
• Orientation: Introducing tye participants, place, and
time
• Events: Describing series of event that happened in
the past
• Re-Orientation: It is optional. Stating personal
comment of the writer to the story.
4. Language Feature
• Introducing personal participant : I, my, group,
etc.
• Using linking verb : was, were, saw, heard, etc
• Using Action : look, go, change, etc
• Using simple past (was/were); adjectives
• Vocabulary: words related to meeting an idol
