Case’s Rising Engineers & Technological Entrepreneurs applies students to the real-world engineering design process. Students work full-
time projects while simultaneously receiving lectures and hands-on tutorials to learn the necessary concepts, software, and skills to solve
the design problems.
• Part of a team of three tasked for development of an improved neonatal incubator. Met weekly and worked closely with neonatal
Doctor Qin Yang of Rainbow Babies, University Hospital
• Presented progress to Doctor Dustin Tyler of biomedical engineering department to justified decisions made
• Prioritized points of weakness of existing neonatal incubators – established that incubators and many other hospital devices are heavy
and difficult to maneuver
• Designed a prototype assistive directional device in SolidWorks that could be fitted to any hospital device
• Budgeted and constructed directional device using pressure sensors, servo motors, and an Arduino microcontroller
University Hospital Department of Ophthalmology – Cleveland, OH October 2012 – January 2013
Image Analyst
• Assisted in tracking the long term progress and effectiveness of eye transplants, laser eye surgical procedures, and cataract removals
• Made analysis easier for physicians by fabricating multiple schematics of the eye into one continuous image
• Graded images of inner eye to determine the hexagonality of cells and the health of patients over time
Brown University Nanomedicine Lab – Providence, RI Summer 2012
Researcher
• Trained in laboratory safety, general sterilizing, autoclaving lab materials, pippeting and incubating bacteria
• Worked as only undergraduate under Thomas Webster working to make hospital contraptions more antiseptic
• Incubated E. Coli colonies on petri dishes in multiple experiments to test their growth on various selenium substrates
Verizon Wireless The Wireless Center – Lakewood, OH October – December 2011
