4. COLOR VALUE: CAN BE DEFINED AS
LIGHTNESS AND DARKNESS OF COLOR. IT
CAN MAKE HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS OF
OTHER COLOR FROM COLOR WHEEL.
5. Any Color mixed with white color is called
TINT. When we mix white color in any other
color it forms a light of that color.
6. where as color mixed with black is
called SHADES. When black color is
mixed with that color than it forms
the dark shade of that color.
7. NEUTRAL COLORS
They contain equal parts of each
primary color . They are not in the color
scheme. Black, Off black, White ,Off
white ,Grey and some times brown are
known as neutral color. They play
important role in color scheme.

Warm Colors are presented in right
side of the color wheel. They are fast
and bright in nature. They makes
object look closer in art; eg red ,orange
etc.

wheel. They are cool in nature. They

purple etc. They give smooth effect to

Hue: It is the name of the color. E.g
Red ,Blue, Green.
Chroma: It is intensity of color.
Tone : It is amount of black and white
in a color

Color wheel is a circle which presents the
logically arranged sequence of pure hues.
16. PRIMARY COLOR
They are pure and basic color and
cannot be created by mixing of other
color. They are Red, Yellow and Blue.
17. SECONDARY COLOR
By mixing two primary color colors produced are
secondary color.
Red + Yellow = Orange
Yellow+ Blue = Green
Blue+ Red=Violet
18. TERTIARY COLOR SCHEME
When primary and secondary color are mixed
tertiary color are formed. Six tertiary can be
produce by mixing with one primary color with
equal part of adjacent secondary color. eg Red
Orange, Yellow Orange, Yellow Green, Blue
green ,Blue Violet, Red Violet
19. Monochromatic color scheme:
This scheme has only single color in it with
tints and shades of that particular color.
e.g. Pink, Red maroon used in a room
21. SPLIT COMPLIMENTARY
It has one basic color and two secondary
color are used. It has one cool color and
two warm color or visa versa.
22. ANALOGOUS COLOR SCHEME
Any three adjacent color in color wheel made
analogous color scheme. This combination of
color has very little contracts.
23. TETRADIC COLOR SCHEME
Any four color of equal distance in color
wheel is used as Tetradic color scheme.
24. BLACK AND WHITE COLOR
Black is complete absence of any color.
White is presence of all color simultaneously
Brown is a combination of red black and yellow
