This document summarizes a presentation given by Datavail about migrating from Oracle Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) to Oracle EPM Cloud Financial Close and Consolidation (FCCS). Key points include considerations for the migration such as differences in exchange rate formats and journal entry handling. Datavail's implementation for client Amvac is discussed, including bringing over historical data and custom dimensions. Best practices for FCCS implementations are also reviewed, such as using pre-built content and a top-down reporting approach. Finally, Oracle's accelerator utility for simplifying metadata mapping between HFM and FCCS is introduced.

Q&A

Exchange rate format
• FCCS Standard is monthly rate, so you have to configure YTD if that is your use case.
Journal entries
• Must be entered on periodic basis
• Cannot simply be exported from HFM and imported to FCCS, needs some formatting
• Cannot book unbalanced entries in FCCS
Shared members are a copy of the original member rather than simply a sharing of data.
No phased consolidations
Limited custom dimensions and custom dimensions are not required.
Monthly updates are handled by Oracle

While YTD data import is fully supported, brining in periodic data is cleaner and
easier to manage.
Maximize usage of pre-built content, it allows for maximum utilization of the product
features and will lead to ease of use and incorporation of features that exceed HFM’s
capabilities.
Use a top down approach: know what you want to report on and build metadata
accordingly.
Use metadata validation tools to ensure application is setup correctly.
