A reporting solution to help SAP GPD customers with MRP reporting, Pegging and Distribution valuation and reporting, and providing a link between MRP-Pegging-Distribution that can explain this complex relationship and integration to both the users and DCAA/DCMA. This solution would provide the following additional benefits: Cost/Labor Hours summarized by cost element for completed material and BOM components, EAC, Forecasting Capability, Remaining Work Valuation, Manufacturing Earned Value.
6. Why Grouping Pegging & Distribution?
GPD solution was conceived primarily from the requirements of
the Aerospace & Defense manufacturing community.
GPD supplements the standard SAP Manufacturing solution in
an Actual Cost (Project Stock) environment.
Enables Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
compliance to employ actual costing.
GPD allows:
Efficient Lot Sizing, procurement, scrap rates, etc.
Exact cost assignment of production and procurement back
to the originating requirement (project WBS element).
GPD gives you efficient manufacturing principles while allowing
the exact actual costs of goods to flow to the requiring project
(final cost objectives).
7. What is GPD?
Grouping, Pegging and Distribution
GPD is part of SAP’s Discrete and Mill Product Industry solution
(DIMP). To use GPD, you must have DIMP turned on in your
system.
Grouping common requirements (demand) together, and
produce/procure in bigger (grouped) lot sizes. Build and
procure similar to everything in “plant stock”.
Pegging the replenishments (supply) back to the originating
requirements (demanding WBS element).
Distribute the costs to the requirements (demanding WBS
Element).
8. The Value of Using GPD
Efficient manufacturing with detailed
actual costing by element of cost for
