This one-hour lesson plan outlines teaching the male reproductive system to 10th grade students. The objectives are for students to identify parts of the male reproductive system and their functions, describe the pathway of sperm from production to ejaculation, and appreciate the role of the male reproductive system in human reproduction. The lesson uses videos, diagrams, group work, questioning, and demonstrations to help students learn about the male reproductive organs and their functions, as well as how sperm is transported from the testes to fertilization. The plan includes formative assessments to evaluate student understanding.

ELICIT
Ask studentsto singa songaboutmale reproductive system to the tune of
I WONT GIVEUP by JasonMraz
When I look at vagina
I really feel so high
When I see the egg rise
An erection I hold
Oh my dear testis,
I see that you’ve come so far
To be right where you are
How old are you sperm?
I won’t give up on you
Even if your walls get rough
The energy I have for you Still swimming up
And when you’re needing your space
To do some navigating
I’ll be here patiently waiting
To see what I’ll find
Even if clitoris fade Or wrinkled it to the earth
We got to travel lot
I know I can make it
“Who do you think won’t give up in the song?” What is his role in human
reproduction

B. Establishing a purpose for
the lesson
ENGAGE
A 3- minute video about male reproductive system will be shown to the whole
class. Teacher will instruct the students to work by pair(seatmate). One will take
note on the different parts of male reproductive system and to where they are
positioned.One willbe takingnotesonthe functionof eachpart.
C. Presenting
examples/instances of the
new lesson
D. Discussing new concepts
and practicing new skills #1
EXPLORE
(BOARDWORK)
Teacher will post a chart of male reproductive system. Students will name each
part by labelingit.
On the other side of the board, teacher will display cut-outs of different
functions of each part .When they will be done on the 1st
part, teacher will ask
another set of students to stick respective function beside the identified name of
the parts of male reproductivesystem.
E. Discussing new concepts
and practicing new skills #2
F. Developing mastery (leads
to Formative Assessment 3)
EXPLAIN
Teacher will discuss the topic and at the same time checking/correcting the class’
boardwork.
Answerstothese questionsmustbe explainedduringthe discussion
*What are the parts of male reproductive systemandtheirrespectivefunctions?
*Why are testescontainedinthe scrotum?
*Why glandsof the male reproductivesystemare significant?
*How doesspermleave the male body?
*How doeserectionoccur?
G. Finding practical
applications of concepts and
skills in daily living
ELABORATE
(OPEN FORUM)
The teacher will entertain questions from their students anything regarding with
the male reproductive system. Questions will be limited depending on time
availability.If none,teacherwill askthe following.
What causesmale infertility?
Is marturbationasin?
What is the role of of male reproductive system in the reproduction of human
life?
