Local Nonprofit to Raise Money by Spring Cleaning
Fundraiser debut to invigorate mind, body and soul
CHARLOTTE, N.C. May 5, 2016 – With warmer weather comes the dreaded chore of spring cleaning;
or maybe it’s not so dreaded after all. One local nonprofit, Enhance My Skills, is using that mantra
for its upcoming summit, Spring Cleaning of the Mind, Body and Soul, being held Saturday, June 4
from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mint Hill Masonic Lodge. The lodge will be filled with community
members and supporters of the nonprofit’s mission to uplift the area’s at-risk youth.
The summit not only provides workshops, tips and encouragement for its attendees; but also serves
as the grand debut for Enhance My Skills and its fundraiser for their greatly anticipated Teen
Conference and scholarship.
As the love-child of Founder Denise L. Jackson, she envisions the Enhance My Skills Teen
Conference becoming the largest gathering of influencers, high school and college-aged youth in
the Southeast.
“I am very excited … that I am able to share my vision and inspiration with others,” expressed
Jackson.
Jackson also notes that Enhance My Skills isn’t an organization that will be competing against other
youth-based programs; “We want to collaborate with, recognize, and uplift all the area
organizations that, like us, care about our youth and their future.”

Literally basing her efforts on the well-known saying ‘A dollar and a dream,’ Jackson’s first efforts
to make a difference for this age group started several years ago by offering online modules and
training for the nominal fee of $1, which Jackson continues today.
“I wanted to make sure that everyone could have access to it [online modules]; one less obstacle in
their way,” stated Jackson, “For some, $1 means so little, and for others, $1 means so much. “

Denise L. Jackson is a Certified Life/Career Coach and a Certified Green Consultant. After 15 years in
corporate America, she embarked on a new journey of coaching teens and young adults. She
founded Enhance My Skills as an e-mentoring/e-courses online organization to prepare teens for
the work marketplace. Realizing teens had questions in other areas of their lives, besides
employment; her passion led her to create a nonprofit where teens can find resources, tools and
