2. A high angle shot is when the
camera is placed higher than the
aspect in the image but points down
to still have the aspect in the image.
A high angle shot makes the focus
in the image look less powerful than
others.
A good example is the Thor
screenshot on the right because this
shows that Thor and Captain
America are underpowered
compared to what they are looking
at.
HIGH ANGLE SHOT (HA)
3. A low angle shot is when the
camera is placed lower than
the main focus in the image.
This gives the person in the
image a more powerful look
showing they have much
more power over the camera.
A good example of this is
Heath Ledgers Joker on the
right. The camera is lower to
show he is the most powerful
character in the current
scene of Batman.
LOW ANGLE SHOT (LA)
4. An extreme long shot can
also be known as an
establishing shot.
This shot usually shows a
wide area and normally
presents the setting or a
person who is relevant.
An example of this is on the
right when the camera
reveals the “Elysium” to the
audience
EXTREME LONG SHOT (XLS)
5. A long shot is when a person
in the image can be seen
from head to toe.
This shows the audience how
the character has been
presented and how they are
dressed to change the views
the audience have on them.
An example of this would be
the matrix screenshot on the
right. This shows Agent
Smith’s stance and how he is
dressed.
LONG SHOT (LS)
6. MEDIUM LONG SHOT (MLS)
A medium long shot is when
a person in the image can be
seen from head to knee.
This allows the audience to
see the character in more
detail.
An example of this would be
the pulp fiction screenshot
on the right. This shows the
characters dress code.
7. A medium shot is when the
audience can see the
character head to waist.
An example of this is the
Hunger Games screenshot on
the side. This shows the
stance of Katniss.
MEDIUM SHOT (MS)
8. A medium close up shot
shows a character from
shoulder to head.
An example is the
screenshot of the Joker on
the right. It gives a closer
look at the make up of the

MEDIUM CLOSE UP (MCU)

An example would be a
picture of an eye or in dans

EXTREME CLOSE UP (ECU)
11. A point-of-view shot is when
you can see exactly what the

pinned on the ground and
held at gunpoint.
