Creation of
enigma.
Enigma is created when the
helicopter comes as you want to
know why they have come and why
all the bombs are going off. What
have they done wrong? It is also
created as the characters are
carrying weapons which signify
danger. This connotes death. A
man is tied up and surrounded by
men with guns so the audience
want to know what they will do to
him and why they have tied him up.
Men are wearing masks which
connotes mystery as you don’t
know who they are and if they are
good or bad.

Introduction to
characters
Firstly we see two men, one is
smoking which signifies he is
irresponsible. He is wearing army
trousers which could signify he is
ready for war and to fight. The other
is holding a large gun with connotes
danger and death. Both men are
stereotypes of terrorists and army
men by the costume they are
wearing. Then were introduced to
two more characters holding onto
the ropes from the helicopter. They
are dressed in dark clothing to
connote mystery. The men in the
building are also wearing black and
are wearing masks so we don’t
know if they are heroes or villains.
The man who is tired up is wearing
army pants which signify he could
be a terrorist and they are the
villains. The characters dressed in
black remove their masks which
makes the audiences more
interested in finding out who they
are.

Setting up Plot
A plot is set up by having binary
opposites such as good vs bad,
hero vs villain. The men seem to be
terrorists which could signify there
will be a lot of fighting and conflict
in the film so we what to know what
will happen. We know this by the
stereotypical clothing.

A fade in is used to signify the film
has begun so the audience can
follow it clearly. A zoom out is used
from a stereo to a long shot of two
men sitting by it. This signifies
danger as they are stereotypically
seen as terrorists by their clothing
and weapons. The setting is
outdoors and appears to be
isolated to create suspense and
tension. A very long shot of the
helicopter is used to signify danger
is coming. It then zooms in to the
building to signify to the audience
where the characters are which
appears to be in the middle of
nowhere. The building Is in the
middle of the frame to signify it is
important. The prop which is used
is a bomb to connote danger. It
then zooms in to the man tied up
which connotes he is trapped. This
signifies he has conflict with the
other men which creates an
enigma. A straight cut is then used
to a long shot of the men standing
around the man tied up. They are
wearing black and have masks on
to connote mystery which builds up
tension. Then a medium close up of
one of the men is used so we can
see his mask then it quickly straight
cuts to the man tied up. His facial
expression signifies he is angry.

The editing speeds up to signify
different emotions then a long shot
is used of two men getting blown
up. This connotes death. A medium
close up is used of the man taking
off his mask. This signifies he has
revealed his identity which
connotes excitement. A long shot is
used of three men standing around
the dead bodies which signify they
have the most power. Zooms in are
used to medium close ups when
the other two men reveal their face
which puts the audience on the
edge of their seat. A two shot is
used when they shake hands which
signify they are pleased and
relieved.
Mood and tone

you first see the stereo which
makes it seem as if it’s coming from
there. The music is loud and upbeat
to connote excitement and a thrill.
This creates an intense mood.

bombs and gun shots are going off
