Special roles within teams
• Coaches
• A team may have any number of coaches
• One coach shall be designated as head coach
• Up to four coaches may be in the team bench area
• They may ask rule clarifications during breaks
• They may ask for time-outs
• Captains
• Act as representatives of the team
• If teams provide more than one captain; one must be
designated speaking captain

• Score keeper
• Keeps track of the score, who scored the goal and assists.
• Keeps track of used time outs
• Keeps track of cards (reason for penalty)
• Time keeper
• Keeps track of the playing time and stops clock in last
30seconds of all quarters
• Keeps track of what time a goal was made
• Keeps track of penalty time
• Informs off field umpire of last 30 seconds of all quarters

• On-field umpires
• One on-field umpire is the head umpire
• All on-field umpires have the same jurisdiction
• In case of a dispute: Head Umpire’s decision is final
• Off-field umpire
• Focus is on the substitution area, communication with
coaches and supervising the table and time penalties (cards)
• Acts as reserve on-field umpire
