1. Speech On Caste Discrimination
"Change is one thing. Acceptance is another"
Change took place in our nation long back in 1947 when India got independence from the colonial powers, but have we accepted the change yet?
Caste Discrimination is a taboo. It is a "noâno" topic of discussion on official papers. Regardless of being abolished constitutionally, caste based
discrimination is followed in various parts of the country. One cannot blatantly blame the Northern part of the country for casteism, as literacy rates are
low. Prejudice on the basis of caste is not something that education can eradicate rather it is a game of the predominant ideology that has been followed
since centuries.
To trace the origins of Caste system, it was a system developed on the basis of occupation....show more content...
The upper caste population identified with Dalits as the callous strata of the populace. They "othered" people from the lower castes by continuous
oppression, turning this oppressive behavior into a hegemonic process. They identified with them as the dark skinned, though the irony lies in the fact
that most Indians are fair skinned Arian stock thus giving rise to the whole Dalits race debate. Gradually, amongst all the debate, the society welcomed
with much comments, the printed version of Ambedkar's speech known as The Annihilation of Caste (1936). The speech is a discussion about what
exactly caste is, catering to questions like, is caste about occupation and rigidity, restriction of marriage and dining and so on. Due to the rising
classification of caste and growing untouchability, the country saw various movements. The Dalit Aesthetics movement being one of them. The
association was a selfârespect movement. It was a rejection of the brahminical aesthetics, a denunciation of the Brahmin idea of beauty. Increasing
number of works by Dalit writers was a silent protest on the invented supremacy of the brahminical social order that treated the 'low castes' worse than
animals. It was movement to break down the dogma of eternal oppression that the pyramidal structure followed, where Brahmins at the top and the
Shudhras managed to get the bottom most layer of the pyramid. It was a pietistic system where the higher castes molded the rules according to their
benefits to keep up with their socioâcultural, economic and political privileges. A fine example of twisting the rules according to one's own needs
can be seen from works like "Deliverance" by Premchand and "Untouchable" by Mulk Raj Anand. In Deliverance, the priest makes the poor soul work
in his courtyard all day while he himself was taking rest. Here the priest does not have a problem if a dalit is

The more you know different kinds of things to pay attention to, the more you can choose (or not) to use that information. Self Awareness is the ability
to know your own emotions and recognize their influence while using guts feeling to guide decisions. It includes acknowledgement of our personality,

It is all the things about me and of others that I keep to myself (this is a definition. You should lead your ideas with the definition and cite where the
definition was found). When interacting I keep things to myself that I do not want revealed. When I do not care for a person they will never know
because I stay neutral with them and still associate and speak to them. I may express how I feel about that person to someone else but not to that
individual. I try to avoid confrontations. The hidden self in myself is also when I keep certain things about myself and other people private. For
example, my friend disclosed a secret about her boyfriend that I pretend I never heard about when I come in contact with him. For example, when I
am happy, I want to talk to everyone and hang out with friends and family. But, when I am neutral I want to stay at home and clean up or relax and
watch television. In my irritable stages I do not answer my phone or if I do I will not speak much but do not want the person to know I am irritable.
When I am angry I get very confrontational and want to yell at certain individuals I come in contact with.

4. Essay on Failed Relationships
We live our lives waiting for who we think is the perfect person, but in reality that never happens. When we hear the word relationship, we think of a
man and a woman. Being in a relationship is more than just being intimate. There are different kinds of relationship such as husbands and wives,
parent and child, or just friend to friend. Some people say it takes two people to make a relationship fail. When two people meet, they usually know
from the begining if they want to be with that person or if they want to pursue a relationship.
When a relationship fails, it is because one or both parties involved gives up. Giving up on a relationship is always hard because it means someone's

Some people cheat with the hope of never being caught. Another reason why relationships fail are because of children, some people having children

partner does not get along that usually cause a big problem.
Communication is the number one key to a good relationship. When there is no communication between both parties involved in the relationship, that
is when the relationship fails whether it is a man and a woman, or a child trying to divorce his/her parents or friends cutting their ties forever.
When couples realize their relationship is starting to fail, they will try different things such as marriage counseling. That is when the couple will sit
down with a therapist and they will try to work their problems out. Sometimes therapy can help the couples work their issues out and get to the root
of their problems. Another solution is a vacation or a second honeymoon where they can reconcile or rekindle the relationship that they use to have.
Or even as far as moving away to get a new start on life, to try to get away from the old way of how things use to be and try to start a new life together
again.
In a relationship, we have to know what we can, and cannot live without. Being in a relationship means nothing, no one is perfect and in a relationship,

8. Title VII Employment Discrimination Cases
Disparate treatment entails claims of deliberate and intended discrimination in which the employer knowingly and intentionally discriminated against
people on the basis of specific characteristics such as race or sex. In contrast, disparate impact or also known as adverse impact focuses on the effect of
employment practices rather than on the reason or purpose underlying them (Heneman, Judge, & KammeyerâĐMueller, 2012). Theoretically, the main
differentiation between disparate treatment and disparate impact is the intent of your employer. Disparate impact involves a policy which your
employer may not have intended to be discriminatory, but which nonetheless affects one entity more negatively than another. Disparate treatment, on

If an employer treats some job applicants who are protected under the civil rights laws less favorably than others because of their protected status, the
applicant may have a Title VII claim. A causal connection between the applicant's protected status and less favorable treatment may be proven under a
disparate treatment theory. Equally important, proof of discriminatory intent is required in a disparate treatment case. The employer's motivation and
intent can be proven through circumstantial evidence that the job applicant was treated less favorably than similarly situated job applicants outside of
the protected class. Essentially, the burden of proof for a Title VII disparate treatment case is based upon the burdenâshifting test that the United States
Supreme Court articulated in McDonnell Douglas Gorp. v. Green. In this influential case, the Court established the well organized framework to
determine whether employment discrimination occurred due to disparate treatment. To prove a prima facie case in an employment discrimination case
based on disparate treatment, a plaintiff must show that he/she is a member of a protected class who applied for and was qualified for a position but
was rejected based on his protected status. The

9. Who Are You As A Writer? Essay
When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer
has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy
is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person
actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my
mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have
convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a
huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society.
When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas
because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on
things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and

makes the story of Minecraft so unique is that it was created by Notch and only Notch. Notch had a job before Minecraft, working on games for a

comic strips about minecraft, leading to even further sales. Minecraft makes $250,000 a day and continues to do so. On June 13, 2011, Minecraft
passed 2.5 million sales. Today Mojang has 10 employees. Markus Persson, Jens Bergensten, Daniel Kaplan, Junkboy, Jakob Porser, Carl Manneh,
Tobias Mollstam, Aron Neiminen, Daniel Frisk, and Daniel Rosenfeld. These few people make up the team that continues to work towards
Minecraft's future. But with so few employees things take time. Even though the game has not been officially released, people who buy the game

critics, and even their own fans. One speculation from fans is that Minecraft will be the company's 1 hit wonder. What happens if it truly is a one hit
wonder? Will the company go down under? Will it be the end of Mojang? Will they join a publisher in order to stay afloat and lose their title of
"indie?" Another speculation concerns Mojang's next game that has absolutely nothing to do with Minecraft, not even in the same genre. What if

also devoted to their school work. And the award they receive for their hard work? Of course there are the great memories, friendships made, "free

The only day off is Sunday. This seems a little far fetched for being college students. Oh, I forgot to mention the pay; $0. Studentâathletes have a more
demanding job, mentally and physically, yet they have little to show for it.
This isn't an argument that proposes colligate athletes should be paid just because they work hard. The reasoning extends far beyond their work
ethics. First of all, colligate athletics is a billion dollar industry. On average, 44,367 fans attend a college football game. Imagine that a university such
as Ohio State holds 7 games at Ohio Stadium as it did in 2003. 105.000+ fans can occupy Ohio Stadium at one time. At the least, one may find a
ticket for $50, if they are lucky. During one Ohio State football game, at least $5.25 million will be made. This is just one source of revenue the
university receives. Not to mention, merchandise, concessions, and BSC appearances. All are major contributors to the lucrative business of college
athletics.
From the millions of dollars generated from ticket sales to the millions of dollars generated from major tournament bids, colligate athletes don't
receive any of this money, which is ironic considering the fact that they are the reason that most of this money is being made. Why shouldn't they be
rewarded with a share of the billion dollar a year industry that they are so much a part of? Why

Grieving allows us to heal, to remember with love rather than pain.

To demonstrate the above I will draw upon my experience and learning from classroom triadic practice, my counselling placement practice and my

The major significance of the KublerâRoss model is that it maps emotional responses of the individual's journey through the changing landscape of the
loss and grieving process. The counsellor can use this model as a guide to help navigate their client through the 'roller coaster of change' and the
fluctuating emotional terrain of grief.
J. William Worden sets out the 'four tasks of mourning' (Worden 1991).
The four basic dynamic tasks are: To accept the reality of the loss. To work through the emotions associated with the loss. To learn how to cope with
practical tasks of living without the support of the deceased. To find a new place in one's emotional relationship with the deceased.
15. These tasks relate to the ideas of denial, anger and grief, learning to cope' and' relocating the deceased in ones mental and emotional life'. Worden
refers to the work of Klass 1996, which challenges the notion of breaking the bond in order to let go of a loved one and form new attachments. Klass
suggested a successful process of grief through bereavement was one which created a 'continuing bond, compatible with other, new and continuing
relationships' (Klass 1996, In Machin. P44. 2011).
Within all these theoretical standpoints, the theme and process of coming to terms with death and relationship could be regarded as the essence of an
existential quest; one

to be policed, as laws can still be broken. This is an insight into if social media, more specifically social networking sites, can be regulated to avoid

In the beginning of drafting the original constitution, there were 7 key individuals involved, George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson,
James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, James Monroe, and Benjamin Franklin. I believe that James Madison was the main person in drafting the
Constitution. Madison wrote the first drafts of the U.S. Constitution, coâwrote the Federalist Papers, and sponsored the Bill of Rights.
James Madison, being a federalist, campaigned for a strong central government. He wanted to form a 3 part federal government, consisting of an
Executive, Judcial and Legislative branches. He believed it would prevent an abuse of power by any one group. Along the way, there was some
opposition from his native Virginia regarding the constitution itself. He formed an alliance with Alexander Hamilton and John Jay in an effort to ratify

Madison believed that the three branches of government would ensure a check and balance of power, so it would be less likely to become corrupt.
