Panic, anxiety, lost, confused, this is what I felt as I arrived on campus. I am sixteen, a junior in high school, and this was my first day attending
a college course. My expectations of what the campus, teachers, and people were like, was nothing compared to what I ended up experiencing.
On Tuesday, August 24th, I began the next step towards my future. I arrived at 12:20pm, my first class was Introduction to Psychology with
Professor Sample at 12:45pm. My palms were sweating, my stomach was turning, my mind was racing. This is really happening, I kept

I knew I wanted to do this because I was very interested in sports my whole life. It wasn't an easy decision in choosing a school, but I think I
made the best choice based on my major right now. In a short essay "College? What's in It for me?" by Steven M. Richardson, the author makes
some very good points about college. Richardson states that there are a lot of reasons to not attend college, but furthermore states that attending
college is your best bet at succeeding in life. Richardson states "The biggest reason for not going, probably, is that college costs money" (169). On
the other hand, he states, "The decision to attend college is an investment in your future–a risk, certainly, but one with a big payoff if it's the right
decision for you" (171). These are the things I had to think about along with millions of high school–students before making my decision on what

I studied day and night, I took initiative by asking my teachers questions every time I was confused, and I actually started to enjoy the lectures

There was a point in my time where I enjoyed school and took pleasure in attending school and that was elementary. Those were the best school

My freshmen and sophomore year, I had my first real boyfriend. I was completely and totally in love with this guy, he changed me in ways

At the beginning of my high school journey, it was scary. Just the thought of a new school, meeting new people, and the fact that this would be
my last years before becoming an "adult" and getting closer to college, was unbelievable, yet scary. My high school journey had many ups and

Starting school when you're four years old changes tremendously to when you're seventeen or eighteen. There are a few things about school that
remain the same, but many more changes are made throughout the years. Gradually homework gets harder and more complex, teachers change,
different activities are added, and much more. Elementary is just the base of what your life will be like in the future. High School prepares you
more for the rest of your life and is when you individually get to have options and decisions to make. Elementary school consists of learning
vocabulary (words), making friends, basic math, and playing outside for recess. The classes you take in Elementary are mandatory. You
have to take Math, Science, Language Arts, P.E., Music, Social Studies, Art, and Reading without have a choice on which class to take.
There are no complex levels of classes that you can take. Everyone is in the same class and it's usually with the same teacher. For example,
your third grade teacher would teach all your classes to you and you would stay in the same room for almost the whole day besides for Art,
Music, and P.E. There are normally three teachers for each grade which means your entire grade would be split up into three groups and those
are the groups you'll be with the whole year. Recess and lunch was the only times you could see your other friends that are in your grade.

With so many of life many failure attempts to succeed in life, we see those individuals that have dropped out of school and feel that their life
now seems meaningless. Their determination or will power wasn't strong, and they had no one to push them forward to want to be a better
person or succeed in life. Some students today feel that all they have to do is just attend school just because of their parents' wishes for them to

Now how can you learn if you're not interested? This is when the teacher should consider providing fun and games, praise, and love within the
classrooms, making the classroom exciting and more interesting.
Before entering the classrooms, teachers should sit and study each individual student and learn their likes and dislikes. They should know what
particular student need help in what particular subject. Some students need more help in other subjects than other students. This is when teachers
should consider making their lesson plans focusing on subject matters that are current and relevant to high school students, implementing
cooperative learning strategies with their lesson plans while students show off their talents. If students are demonstrating what they have learned
in a skit, they tend to learn more positively. When providing fun and game within the classrooms, the students are excited about attending class

because they already know something very eventful is going to take place in that particular class. Not only are they learning they are having fun
while doing so. They are able to act out some of their personal talents, giving others a sense of who they really are, and what some of their greater
