My hospital internship has significantly affected my growth as a person because it opened my eyes to what the medical field truly is. When I
started my internship at Staten Island University Hospital I was sixteen years old. I didn't really know what I wanted to do I life. I knew that I
wanted to be someone who could help others. The first day of my internship I was really scarred I didn't know what tasks I would be assigned but
that didn't stop me from being excited. When I arrived at the hospital I was dressed in my black pants and royal blue scrub jacket that made me
feel so important. I have to honestly say I was a little upset that we could not wear scrubs because I always loved wearing scrubs. I was standing in
the lobby of Staten Island University Hospital South Site when the one thing I could never forget happened I remember just seeing doctors
walking all over the place from one end to another. The Lady in charge of all the students in the internship told me that I needed to clock in so
that's what I did first. Then I went to go find my way to get to my assignment, I got lost trying to get downstairs, I ended up walking past the OR
suite where many patients were either going into surgery or getting out of surgery. The one thing that shocked me was how long the hallway was to

This young lady was a product of a broken home, mother left approximately 12 years ago, leaving two children behind to be raised by their father. The
children were never able to establish any real relationship with their mother as she lived in Northern Virginia and the children lived several hours south.
The dynamics that were created by
this scenario would ultimately cause this young girl to develop several very disturbing behaviors to include deceitfulness, manipulation, overt sexual
behaviors, and an extreme desire to be accepted by the opposite sex. Add to this situation is the fact that her father is now incarcerated for

They gave me the basic idea of what was going on with them and how the family could use the support. At this point when I asked what prison the
parents were in, they said county. It was then my job to break them the bad news and let them know that their child did not qualify for the program.
In my search for organizations that are involved with the system and the families surrounding it, my supervisor referred me to the School District
of Philadelphia alternative schools. These are schools children are transferred to based on behavioral problems. Coming from the school district, I
have already heard of these schools and knew some of the possible places to contact. Although I have previous knowledge, I decided to start at the
school district office to get a list of all the alternative schools. This is where I hit one of the first barriers on my path of recruitment. The school
district gave me the biggest run around, sending me from one office to another, then transferring me to completely different buildings and programs.
No one seemed to have the answer. I wondered why the home office of all the schools did not have a list available of the possible alternative

The First Day Of Internship
Today was the first day of internship. I attended a new hire training secession about 8 hours and heard about the history of Novogradac & Company
LLP, met the partners of the firm, completed all new hire paperwork and turned in to HR. In addition, I learned about ProSystem Engagement which
company has been using for audit and tax preparation software. At the end of the day, all intern received a tour of office and met their own team
members.
Jan 6: I took more comprehensive training for ProSystem Tax and ProSystem Engagement. The firm also called ePace instead of ProSystem that is an
electronic file room for all audit and tax engagements of clients. I trained on the processes of synchronizing binder and learned to import trial balance

Organization was the most important tool that allowed me to reach my goals throughout this internship. Meeting with my supervisor on a weekly basis

I completed forty hours for my internship. Throughout the course of my internship I shadowed a school counselor at a private school and a school
psychologist at a public school. I observed their job task such as testing, teaching, and conducting meetings. I was able to see the techniques used to
communicate with children, adolescence and their parents. The school counselor did most of her work with the elementary and the middle school. I
observe her as she teaches a class on core values of the school and teaching the children how to cope with their emotions. The school psychologist

This school year I had the opportunity to be in the internship class. I interned at Lexington Middle School in the media center. I interned under Ms.
Shoaf who is the media coordinator. This was not an easy internship. It wasn't a really welcoming feeling my first few days. It was more of a one

My Objectives Of My Internship
Before I started my internship, I set out a few learning objectives that has boosted my confidence, knowledge and capability to take on challenges

This summer I am interning at Carmen and Muss P.L.L.C. a small law firm here in Washington D.C. It is a real estate law firm run by member Mindy
Carmen. She started her own law firm in the private sector working with government contracts after years of working in the public sector in various
parts of the federal government. Over the past few weeks working in the office I have gotten the opportunity to grow closer and learn a lot from
Mindy. Who is also my internship supervisor. In my internship I work with her and her assistant, Marissa, a current law student at George Washington.
For this assignment I interviewed my supervisor Mindy. However, because during this time of year she has to travel a lot. Therefore, we ended up

Wow...Midterms already! I cannot believe how time is flying by. Just like that we are now half way done with this semester and I been at
internship for two months already. I am happy for the opportunity I am having at internship, but at the same time I wish I could pause time or slow
down time. I feel that every day it is going so fast that I can barely breath, blink, and rest, as I feel I am always rushing. I am even seeing my
