NEW KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDINGS.

INQUIRY APPROACH IS A TEACHING STRATEGY DESIGNED TO
TEACH STUDENTS HOW TO INVESTIGATE THROUGH
SYSTEMATIC GATHERING OF FACTS.
Steps of InquiryModel
Problem statement *Determine what is to be investigated.
*Formulate a question hypothesis.
Data collection *Gather as much information about
the topic from appropriate sources.
Analysis of Data *Examine and discuss the findings to
provide explanation or clarity.
*Make and generalize hypotheses.
*Analyze the information using the
Inquiry Process.
Conclusions *Based on analyses, determine
solutions related to the original
problem stated.
TEACHER’S ROLE
• TEACHERS ARE FACILITATORS RATHER THAN VESSELS OF
KNOWLEDGE.
• THE TEACHER IS TO ASSIST THE STUDENTS ALONG THE
PROCESS OF DISCOVERING KNOWLEDGE THEMSELVES.
STUDENT’S ROLE
• THE CLASSROOM SHOULD HAVE AN ATMOSPHERE
WHERE THE STUDENTS CAN FREELY USE THEIR
KNOWLEDGE AND CAN FREELY EXPRESS THEMSELVES .
• THE TEACHER MUST BE THE FACILITATORS OF THE
PROCESS OF LEARNING ,WHICH MEANS THEY SHOULD
NOT MANIPULATE THE CLASS .
PROJECT BASED LEANING APPROACH (PBL)
GUIDELINE IN CONDUCTING A PROJECT BASED
TEACHING STRATEGY
• ASSIGN COLLABORATIVE WORKING GROUPS.
• PRESENT A REAL WORD PROBLEM THAT PUPILS CAN
CONNECT.
• SET THE PARAMETERS FOR COMPLETING THE PROJECT.
• CONSULT THE TEACHER FOR INPUT/ FEEDBACK.
• SHARE FINAL PRODUCT/FINISHED WORK WITH LARGE
GROUP.
TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ ROLE IN PROJECT-
BASED TEACHING STRATEGY
THE TEACHER SERVES AS THE FACILITATOR IN
PROJECT-BASED LEARNING
• TEACHERS ASSESS STUDENTS’ LEARNING.
• DEVELOPAN ATMOSPHERE OF SHARED RESPONSIBILITY.
• STRUCTURE THE PROPOSED QUESTIONS/ISSUE TO DIRECT
THE STUDENTS’ LEARNING TO CONTENT BASED
MATERIALS.
• REGULATE STUDENT SUCCESS WITH INTERMITTENT,
TRANSITIONAL GOALS.
• ONCE THE PROJECT IS FINISHED, THE TEACHER PROVIDES
THE STUDENTS WITH POSITIVE FEEDBACK THAT WILL
HELP THEM STRENGTHEN THEIR SKILLS FOR THE NEXT
PROJECT.
AS THE FACILITATORS, TEACHERS MUST ENSURE THAT
THE STUDENTS DO THE FOLLOWING:
• ASSESS THEIR OWN LEARNING.
• ASK QUESTIONS TO BUILD KNOWLEDGE AND DETERMINE A
REAL WORLD SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE/QUESTION PRESENTED.
• COLLABORATE WITH THE OTHER STUDENTS ACTIVELY.
• ENGAGE IN INTELLIGENT FOCUSED COMMUNICATION,
ALLOWING THEM TO THINK RATIONALLY ON HOW TO SOLVE
PROBLEMS.
• ALLOW OWNERSHIP OF STUDENTS’ SUCCESS.
• USE TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT TO HELP IN THEIR
INVESTIGATION.
• SEARCH THE INTERNET TO FIND RELATED TOPICS THAT WILL
SUPPORT THE FINDINGS OR RESULT OF THE CONDUCTED
PROJECT.

INQUIRY-BASED LEARNING • IS AN UMBRELLA TERM, ENCOMPASSING A RANGE OF TEACHING APPROACHES WHICH INVOLVE STIMULATING LEARNING WITH A QUESTION OR ISSUE AND THEREBY ENGAGING LEARNERS IN CONSTRUCTING NEW KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDINGS. • IS AN INSTRUCTIONAL METHOD DEVELOPED DURING THE DISCOVERY LEARNING.
  • 4. INQUIRY APPROACH IS A TEACHING STRATEGY DESIGNED TO TEACH STUDENTS HOW TO INVESTIGATE THROUGH SYSTEMATIC GATHERING OF FACTS. Steps of InquiryModel Problem statement *Determine what is to be investigated. *Formulate a question hypothesis. Data collection *Gather as much information about the topic from appropriate sources. Analysis of Data *Examine and discuss the findings to provide explanation or clarity. *Make and generalize hypotheses. *Analyze the information using the Inquiry Process. Conclusions *Based on analyses, determine solutions related to the original problem stated.
  • 5. TEACHER’S ROLE • TEACHERS ARE FACILITATORS RATHER THAN VESSELS OF KNOWLEDGE. • THE TEACHER IS TO ASSIST THE STUDENTS ALONG THE PROCESS OF DISCOVERING KNOWLEDGE THEMSELVES.
  • 6. STUDENT’S ROLE • THE CLASSROOM SHOULD HAVE AN ATMOSPHERE WHERE THE STUDENTS CAN FREELY USE THEIR KNOWLEDGE AND CAN FREELY EXPRESS THEMSELVES . • THE TEACHER MUST BE THE FACILITATORS OF THE PROCESS OF LEARNING ,WHICH MEANS THEY SHOULD NOT MANIPULATE THE CLASS .

PROJECT BASED LEANING APPROACH (PBL) GUIDELINE IN CONDUCTING A PROJECT BASED TEACHING STRATEGY • ASSIGN COLLABORATIVE WORKING GROUPS. • PRESENT A REAL WORD PROBLEM THAT PUPILS CAN CONNECT. • SET THE PARAMETERS FOR COMPLETING THE PROJECT. • CONSULT THE TEACHER FOR INPUT/ FEEDBACK. • SHARE FINAL PRODUCT/FINISHED WORK WITH LARGE GROUP.

TEACHER AND STUDENTS’ ROLE IN PROJECT- BASED TEACHING STRATEGY THE TEACHER SERVES AS THE FACILITATOR IN PROJECT-BASED LEARNING • TEACHERS ASSESS STUDENTS’ LEARNING. • DEVELOPAN ATMOSPHERE OF SHARED RESPONSIBILITY. • STRUCTURE THE PROPOSED QUESTIONS/ISSUE TO DIRECT THE STUDENTS’ LEARNING TO CONTENT BASED MATERIALS. • REGULATE STUDENT SUCCESS WITH INTERMITTENT, TRANSITIONAL GOALS. • ONCE THE PROJECT IS FINISHED, THE TEACHER PROVIDES THE STUDENTS WITH POSITIVE FEEDBACK THAT WILL HELP THEM STRENGTHEN THEIR SKILLS FOR THE NEXT PROJECT.

AS THE FACILITATORS, TEACHERS MUST ENSURE THAT THE STUDENTS DO THE FOLLOWING: • ASSESS THEIR OWN LEARNING. • ASK QUESTIONS TO BUILD KNOWLEDGE AND DETERMINE A REAL WORLD SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE/QUESTION PRESENTED. • COLLABORATE WITH THE OTHER STUDENTS ACTIVELY. • ENGAGE IN INTELLIGENT FOCUSED COMMUNICATION, ALLOWING THEM TO THINK RATIONALLY ON HOW TO SOLVE PROBLEMS. • ALLOW OWNERSHIP OF STUDENTS’ SUCCESS. • USE TECHNOLOGICAL EQUIPMENT TO HELP IN THEIR INVESTIGATION. • SEARCH THE INTERNET TO FIND RELATED TOPICS THAT WILL SUPPORT THE FINDINGS OR RESULT OF THE CONDUCTED PROJECT.
