18. We Know
• Internet works on client server model
• Every device connected to the internet owns an
IP Address
• Every website that resides over the internet owns
a specific IP Address
• When a request is made to navigate to a website,
its domain name is converted to its IP Address
equivalent, data from this address is returned to
client as response.
This is a user who wishes to access some website over the internet.
The user logs in to the computer system. Since this computer system shall be used to access a website, it is termed as a client.
We also know that every entity connected to the internet, owns an IP Address. Thus here the client, i.e. The device is recognised by an IP Address where it resides.
This client wishes to navigate to the website google.co.in
Thus it sends a request
A request to access google.co.in. Every entity that resides over the internet, owns an IP Address, and so does google.co.in. Thus when a request is made to access the website, its IP Address is searched for instead of the domain name google.co.in.
The request is forwarded to the web server of the Internet service provider to search for the IP Address where google.co.in resides i.e. 173.194.46.55
Once the web server finds the specified address, i.e. the server where Google.co.in resides
The data that was requested for, i.e. The web page of google.co.in is returned in response.
This response is sent to the client which initiated the request for it. This client is recognised by the IP Address where it resides, here 195.160.5.0
