Storm Thorgerson was a renowned English graphic designer best known for his iconic album cover artworks. He developed a six-step process for creating album covers that involved thoroughly researching the music, discussing concepts with the band, creating rough illustrations, testing designs, potentially conducting photo shoots, editing materials, and finalizing the approved design. Thorgerson's process ensured the artwork fully embodied the band's vision and message.

2. Who Was Storm Thorgerson?
 Storm Thorgerson was an English graphics designer and music video director best
known for his album cover works.
 Thorgerson was born in February 1944 and passed away in April of 2013.
 He did works for many rock artists for example: Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Biffy
Clyro, Rival Sons, Black Sabbath, Muse and many more.
 Thorgerson used a six step approach when creating covers so following these
steps is a good idea giving me some extra insight and help with creating a
Digipack.

3. Step 1: The Brief
 The brief is basically getting lots of ideas together by listening to the music,
talking with the band and their vision and looking through the song lyrics to pick
out symbolism, themes and imagery to feature on the cover art.
 The ideas created here are very general and are developed in later stages.

4. Step 2: The Roughs
 Over the next few days the artist discusses the ideas with the band to develop the
big idea/theme. This is the creative stage between the artist and band where the
ideas are developed into more complex ideas and illustrations.

5. Step 3: The Tests
 Once rough illustrations are created ideas are further developed and prototyped
to test that they fit the concept, idea and vision of the band that fits their
album/single concept and message.

6. Step 4: The Shoot
 If a photo is needed for the cover art or to use as art reference. The shoot location
and time period are all pre planned. Many photos are taken to make sure that
there is a selection and that there is at least one perfect photo.

7. Step 5: Editing
 Over the next few day all photos from the shoot are sorted, all art and images are
compiled. The best works are compared and selected for the Digipack to make the
final prototype. This stage can take quite a while as there can be hundreds of
similar photos and art pieces to choose between.

8. Step 6: The Artwork
 Having chosen the artwork/picture final changes and creative decisions are made
to create the final product. The final finished version is sent to the band to be
okayed before mass production, distribution and sales.
