Accounting information systems (AIS) as defined by Steinbart (2009) involves issues related to the areas of accounting and information systems, i.e. not necessarily the intersection of the two fields. For this particular research program, we believe that the two fields of IS and Accounting need to be complemented by the fields of Marketing and HCI/Usability engineering.
