This is my essay about Call of the Wild . Call of the wild is about a Scottish sheep dog named Buck . Buck lived on a small farm on what is called ''

Compare/Contrast over DVD/Book There are lots of differences in the book and DVD, The Call of the Wild. One of the things they do that is different
is that in the movie they have much more violence. What I mean by that is when Spitz and Buck are fighting, you can see what's happening, and I think
that's why it seems so much more violent. But, in the book, you are just reading what's going on. Another thing that's different from the book that's in
the DVD is that in the DVD they take more time introducing the characters. I say this because in the book, they tell what the character does, and the

There are a few reasons why I recommend reading the classic, "The Call Of The Wild" by Jack London. There are very exhilarating action scenes
throughout the book. The suspense is well placed and makes you wanting more and more. The story is told through the eyes of a dog, which gives an
intriguing perspective to the storyline. These reasons and a few others give this book a lively feel.
The author highlights different points in the story with several scenes of action. One part in the story that really stands out to me is when Jack London

dependant upon one another. Together they make a great team.
John Thornton asked little of man or nature. During the search for the gold Thornton travels in no hurry. He travels in an Indian fashion. He hunts for
food with his hands and fights off the cold in his small but, accommodating tent. If he fails, Thornton keeps on traveling knowing that eventually he
will find food. He has adapted, and now has the power to conquer the wilderness. Buck also reaches his own greatest strengths which creates somewhat
of a super being in a dog.
Due to the harshness of the wild in the Klondike wilderness it would be difficult for anyone to survive. If you ever plan to journey to the Yukon,
my advice to you would be, plan your trip very carefully and don't forget anything. The first thing I would suggest is to hire a skillful guide to travel
with you. Next, take enough supplies to last an extra week of your trip, in case you run into problems. The last thing you need to do is purchase a

Call of the Wild was a great book. The conflict, adventure, and excitement were amazing. In chapter 1 I didn't like the people treated the animals.
Why treat something that doesn't even want to be here. The sadness of the characters made feel as if I felt what Buck felt. The violence and action
made me feel like I was there. It surprised me that Buck changed so much cause of the environment. He changed from a scared pup to a ruthless,
cold blooded killer. I liked how the author wrote of Buck's love for John Thornton. He killed for John Thornton. It seems that Buck was true man's
best friend. It left an empty spot inside of me when Buck so brutally killed Spitz. I couldn't believe that a kind dog like Buck could do something so

The Call of The wild was my favorite reading assignment because it had a lot of story in it and we took a lot of time to read it. I also like it because we

love reading classic novels and it seemed to be an interesting and exciting story. Finally, this was the novel of my choice because it was recommended
to me by my grandma.

Buck is the main character of this novel. The other animals in the novel are Buck, Curly, Spitz, Dave, Billee, Joe, Sol–leks, Dolly, Pike, Dub, Skeet,
and Nig. Buck's mother was a Scotch Sheppard, and his father was a huge Saint Bernard. Buck was a civilized dog, but answers the call of the wild
and becomes one with the wild. Curly was Buck's companion on the boat trip to the North. Curly is described in the novel as a "good–natured
Newfoundland." Curly does not survive long; however, Buck learns a gruesome lesson when he sees how easily Curly was murdered while trying to
be friendly with Spitz. Spitz was the dog that assassinated Curly and becomes Buck's most bitter enemy. He was terminated later in the novel by
Buck in a dog brawl. Buck's victory entitled him to take over the lead of the dogs that belonged to Spitz. The dog fight illustrated to me Buck's ability
to survive even among the most primitive elements. Dave, Billee, Joe, Sol–leks, Dolly, Pike, and Dub are the other dogs that serve on the dogsled team
with Buck. Finally, Skeet and Nig were two of John Thornton's dogs that he owned before he rescued and adopts
