Romans: Romans is a letter from Paul to the church of Rome. Paul had not ever been tovisit this church but had met some of the members in his
travels. I tells of his plan to visit the church. He wrote this letter durning his third missionary trip in 57 A.D. In this letter he explains that God's
sa,vation plan is for everyone, Jews and Gentiles. Belief and acceptance in Jesus and his sacrifice is the only requirement for salvation. All now have the
same access to Jesus, the messiah.

appeared to Saul and blinded him when he asked "Why do you persecute me?" Jesus commanded Saul to continue on his journey and soon Paul was
healed and baptized in the Holy Spirit after Ananias laid hands on him.
After that Saul was refered to as Paul. He left his old life and began his mission as a amasador of Christ's message to all the world, or the world as it
was known at that time. He left Jerusalem and began his missionary journeys, at least five of them. He went to Asia minor (modern Turkey), Syria,

Psalm 3
1. What is the historical context for the psalm?
The historical background of Psalm 3 is described in 2 Samuel chapters 15â18. Verse 7 of the said psalm showed David's petition. He asked the Lord to
save him. It is clear from 2 Samuel 15:32â27 that David wisely sent Hushai, his friend, back to Jerusalem...show more content...
Construct an outline of the psalm that shows its literary structure.
Psalm 34:1â3 is an introductory summons to praise (Bosma, n.d.). It was then followed by David's testimonial in verse 4 until verse 6. Further, verses
8â14 is all about the poet's exhortations, which consisted of 10 imperatives and seven poetic lines, with emphasis on verse 11 (Bosma, n.d.). Also, it is
noteworthy that verse 15 describes the Lord as attentive most especially to the righteous; and verse 16 talks about His negative attitude towards those
who perform evil (Bosma, n.d.).
4. Describe poetical devices in the psalm, including examples of parallelism (at least two types) and figures of speech (at least three types).
Psalm 34:17 ultimately corresponds thematically with verses 4 and 7. Bosma (n.d.) believed that this is evident because of the lexical parallels
between in verses 4, 6 and 17. Also, Verses 15â21 reflect the poet's use of alternating parallelism (Bosma, n.d.).
There are various figures of speech evident in this psalm. First, verse 13 represents synecdoche because the tongue and lips meant to represent the
poet as a whole. Second, verse 16 shows anthropomorphism because of the use of "the face of the Lord is against those who do evil," which in turn
signifies the explicit comparison of God to the aspect of mankind (Bible Getaway, n.d.). Lastly, acrostic is also evident in Psalm 34 because each verse

Ruth
The book of Ruth is a book about sacrifice, faith, patience, love, kindness, restoration, and fruitfulness. The basic literary is narrative and the authorship
is believed to be Samuel written between 1020 â 1000 BC. The main personalities of this book are Ruth, Naomi, and Boaz. The Book of Ruth is about
how a man named Elimelech takes his wife Naomi and their two sons Mahlon and Chilion from living in a town known as "the house of bread" in
Bethlehem to the land of Moab on his own will to escape death. Here the two sons married unequally yoked Moab women by the names of Orpah
and Ruth. All within a decade Naomi loses her husband and two sons to death. One day Naomi hears that God's favor has returned to Bethlehem and
that food is available so Naomi decides to return. Not too far into the journey back to Bethlehem, accompanied by Orpah and Ruth, Naomi tells
Orpah and Ruth to return to Moab but Ruth decides to continue with Naomi and follow God. Upon their arrival, the whole town was in a frenzy at
the return of Naomi. When confronted about her identity she told them to call her Mara, which means bitter, and no longer Naomi which means
pleasant. Ruth and Naomi returned at the beginning of the barley harvest and the next day Ruth took it upon herself to go to the field collect food.

7. Another example of a "Type" of Christ is the biblical person, Isaac.
He was the Promised Son, which was formed in a supernatural way from the barren womb of Sarah.
Jesus was born of a virgin birth, in a supernatural way.
Isaac was considered "dead" to Abraham when he began the 3 days journey to the place of sacrifice.
Jesus was in a borrowed tomb for 3 days.
Isaac was "raised" from the dead when God asked Abraham to stopped the act, upon seeing his faith. Jesus himself was also raised from the grave
after the cross. Both Isaac and Jesus offered their lives up willingly for Abraham and God the Father respectively as a sacrifice.
Because of all these examples, Isaac can be considered as a "Type" of Christ.
Adam
An example of a contrasting "Type" of Christ will be Adam.
Through the side of Adam, Eve was formed. (Physical Life)
Through the side of Christ, all man receives salvation. (Spiritual Life).
Adam representing Mankind was giving dominion over Earth,
Christ after resurrection was elevated to God's right hand.
Adam experienced the judgment of Godâhe ultimately died and his body turned to dust.
Christ experienced the judgment of God through death on the cross, but he didn't stay dead, for he rose again.
The first Adam failed the test, and in doing so involved all humanity in his defeat, dragging the human race down with him As a result, in Adam we all

into the idea of gender being negotiated through discourse and performance of gender in everyday interaction, and how identity is a performativity and
it is constituted by expression. Butler's views on gender challenges the cultural norms and gender categories. Therefore, she brought a creative chaos to

12. Who Are You As A Writer? Essay
When presented with the question, "who are you as a writer?", I was speechless at first. But after thinking about it, I realized who I am as a writer
has been influenced by so many different sponsors throughout my life and there was not a short, concrete answer. Brandt mentions that "literacy
is sponsored by people, institutions, and circumstances that both make it possible for a person to become literate and shape the way the person
actually acquires literacy." (Brandt 43) My attitude towards writing has been influenced by teachers, both negatively and positively, by my
mother, and by academic assignments over the years. My answer to the question can only be answered by a narrative of my writing life. I have
convinced myself that I am a terrible writer, and when presented with a writing assignment, I get anxious instantly. I see writing as a burden and a
huge obstacle that gets placed in my life. Academic writing is not fun, but something I value due to the fact that we are a grade driven society.
When writing, I write to the guidelines in order to receive points for the requested criteria. The reason being, I gave up on expressing my own ideas
because I had been shut down by so many teachers throughout my education. I tried to write down what came to my mind and put my own twist on
things, but that was not the "right" way to write papers. In order to make both my teachers and my grades happy, I wrote what they wanted to hear, and
even then I was not to the level they

the New King James version, which was published in 1611. The author of the book is unspecified even though it's assumed to be written by Moses, a
Christian prophet. On the other hand, there's no evidentiary factor to prove otherwise. Christian scholars believe that Genesis was written during the
time Moses rescued the children of Israel from being captured by the Egyptians (1450â1410 B.C). As the name implies, the Book of Genesis was
written to describe the beginning of history. It was written for the people of Israel, the descendants of Abraham, to give hope and to explain how and

The Book of Genesis sets the tone for God's purpose for earth's creatures, male and female, more specifically husband and wife relationships. It
starts by showing how both man and woman was made in the image of God while making everything else below them: "And God said, Let us
make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the seas, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle,
and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created
he him; male and female created he them." However, gender inequality forms evidently afterwards. After warning both Adam and Eve to not eat the
forbidden fruit, Satan in the form of a serpent convinced Eve to eat the fruit reassuring her of no consequences. After sharing the fruit with Adam, they
both felt guilt and regret and hid from God. Consider the following from Genesis where God is describing the curse and how it affects the relationship
between men and women. "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;
and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over

17. Why Is Genesis So Important In The Bible
Genesis is one of the most important books within the bible. Genesis is the first book to show God's Word. Genesis is extremely significant since it is
the beginning of numerous things that occur in the Bible. Essentially, it is the foundation of the Bible. For those who do not know, Genesis means
"beginning."
God created humanity in his image. Essentially, we are the shepherds of the earth. We are to take care of the Earth and all that comes with it, such as
"the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky." However, we may not rule over each other. God made us to take care of one another, not to control each
other like the livestock and wild animals that run over the earth.
Similarities between God and humanity is we have the ability to think.

The author starts by acknowledging just how many states have adopted the many strategies of reducing the amount of prisoners housed. The author
argues that offender classification has been shown to be the key to successful correctional management. The author reviews five overcrowded prisons
where classification procedures were abused and contributed to the harmfulness of overcrowding.
The idea that the author is trying to push is that it isn't just classification that will help solve the problem but also the management that must be taken
into account. The way the prisoners are classified when they come into prison is a way that should be looked at to assure the decisions about inmates
and prison programming goes into effect. The author discusses ways that prisoners can be "matched" with prisons and facilities in order to increase
their chances of staying in prison nonâviolent. When prisons are overcrowded, classification decisions are more haphazard and restricted which makes
prisoners over classified.
Inappropriate classifications can hurt the prison system, the prisons, and the economy because more taxes go out to house prisons that already have too
many inmates, and not enough faculty members. The author also discusses the effect overcrowding has on a prisoner trying to move out of the

Word Study on Nephesh
Young Hoon (John) Kim
The Hebrew word Nephesh occurs 754x throughout the Old Testament, Psalms use 144x, three times of verb form (to exhale), and the plural form of
Nephesh occurs fifty tiems. Though, KJV translates the term as life 280x, personality 220x, throat thirtyâthree times, and neck four times, the standard
gloss is soul/life. A verb form of Nephesh "to exhale" (Exod. 23:12; 31:17; 2 Kings 16:14) shows that this word is closely related to "livingâbeing."
Moreover, the expression hayyĐŃ "alive" (Gen. 2:7) indicates that it is being used to describe people or animals. Furthermore, when Nephesh being
used as subject of qatsar "to be short" (Num. 21:4; Judg. 10:16, 16:16; Zech. 11:8) and showb "to restore, revive"...show more content...

The word Nephesh has three primary senses. Sense 1 is living being as general, which is closely related to a life. Sense 2 is soul, and sense 3 is throat,
which closely relates to the verb form of Nephesh "to breath." Examples of sense 1 refer to the precious individual living self (Ex. 21:23; Lev. 24:18;
Deut. 19:21; 1 Kings 20:39, 42; 2 Kings 10:24) and life of the flesh (Lev. 17:11). Moreover, in the context of the creation and the flood, Nephesh refers
to animals and people (Gen. 1:20f; 24; 9:10, 12, 15f; Lev. 11:10, 46; Ezek. 47:9). Sense 2 is connected to sense 1 but refers to sphere aspect. When the
word refers to soul, Nephesh is being used to connect with emotional state of joy, "Bring joy to the soul of your servant, for I long for you, O Lord (Ps.

The author of Genesis is anonymous but most scholars attribute its composure to Moses. Genesis is believed to have been dated to around 1445
BC (Illustrated Bible Survey an Introduction, 2013).Genesis is part of the Pentateuch or 5 scrolls (Illustrated Bible Survey an Introduction,

describes our creation and purpose. The creation of the world and its inhabitants and expansive space (i.e. other planets, galaxies and stars) is all
discussed within its pages. We see where we began and how we ended up where we are, living a sin nature. It discusses our fall and original sin.
Adam and Eve God's original creation sinned and were exiled from the Garden of Eden. We see the God's judgment in the flood. This is where God
sees our evil and floods the Earth only sparing Noah and his family. Our foolish acts that lead to various languages and nations from the tower of
Babel can be found in Genesis 10:1â11:9. The patriarchs of the Bible begin here. The stories of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph can be found within
Genesis. This is the creation of the covenant relationship with God. The Abrahamic Covenant begins here in Genesis 12:1â13 (Illustrated Bible Survey
