Narrative
 You are (as many as in your group) returning back to our unit
after some routine administrative duties at rear Div Hq.you halted
at the tea shop and also to allow Daily Convoy coming up Soni
Hill to pass you. While you were having tea ,you saw your 3 ton
moving down hill on its own, as it had jumped over stone kept
under tyres. You ran after the vehicle but it rolled down the road.
Suddenly you saw a jeep coming up the hill .By the time you
could reach the 3 ton, it collided with the jeep. You saw the driver
unconscious and an officer sitting on the co driver seat bleeding
from head injury . He told you that he is from intelligence corps
and had just learnt that some anti national elements have placed
a dynamite near the bridge on Yamuna river ,and intend killing
GOC as his vehicle cross it on his way from the Helipad to the
rear Div Hq. The GOC is landing at 1800 hrs .They also intend
killing head man of Betia Village at sunset i.e.1830 hrs as he is
an informer. Saying this he fainted..As you were thinking taking
some action ,the tea shop owner came shouting for help. He said
his pony has slipped down the hill ,broken his leg and can be
saved if you can transport it immediately to Betia village –Vet
Doctor.
Additional Information
 Lalpur and Sonpur are border towns having quite
a few Army units.
 Wind shield and head light of 3 Ton are damaged.
 Jeep is badly damaged
 The convoy returns down everyday and crosses
Temple everyday at 1700 hrs
 The civil bus leaves Betia Village for Lalpur at
1645hrs
 The time now is 1700hrs.
 As bold young men what would you do.
Problems and priorities
 First aid and Medical help to injured officer and
Driver
 Neutralise dynamite and inform authorities about
targeting of GOC
 Save Headman of Betia
 Recover and med aid to pony
 Recover and repair damaged 3 Ton and Jeep
 Group to return to units

Solution
 Divide the group in 4 sub groups A(2),B(4),C(2),D(2)
 1700 hrs- Gp A (Including me)
 Give first aid to injured Officer and Driver from first Aid Box of
Bus arriving at Tea Shop and from 3 ton ,at 1700hrs from
Betia.
 Take the injured persons in the Bus to Lalpur.
 Admit them in Hospital.
 Inform Police about attack on Betia Village Head Man
 Acquire a recovery Vehicle and one Mini Bus from Army unit
at Lalpur and return to accident Site by 1900 hrs
 Recover/ repair accident vehicle and wait at Tea Shop by
1945 hrs
Solution
 1710hrs- Gp B moves on foot to Helipad and Dynamite site
 2 Person move to Helipad and to Rear Div Hq
 Inform Duty Officer at Div Rear about placement of Dynamite and targeting of GOC
 Inform Helipad incharge about the same as well
 Accompany ID Expert from Div Rear and get the ID neutralised
 2 person move to Yamuna Bridge to keep watch on Dynamite site and
prevent others to go in that area
 Return to Tea Shop by 1930 hrs
 1715 hrs Gp C move to Betia village and organises local people
to prevent killing of head man and apprehend the culprit and
hand over to Police who arrive at village from Lalpur by 1800
hrs and return to Tea Shop by 1930 hrs
 1715 hrs –Gp D move to Vill Betia get a tractor ,move to site
where Injured Pony was. Recover Pony and send to Betia Vill
Vet Dr along with Tea shop owner and reach back to Tea Shop
by 1930 Hrs
 2000 Hrs- All members move to Unit at Lalpur by Mini Bus and

  • 2. Lalpur 30Km Temple Lalpur 30 Km Tea Shop Helipad Betia Village Sonpur 25 Km Yamuna Bridge Scale 1 cm = 1 Km
  • 3. Narrative  You are (as many as in your group) returning back to our unit after some routine administrative duties at rear Div Hq.you halted at the tea shop and also to allow Daily Convoy coming up Soni Hill to pass you. While you were having tea ,you saw your 3 ton moving down hill on its own, as it had jumped over stone kept under tyres. You ran after the vehicle but it rolled down the road. Suddenly you saw a jeep coming up the hill .By the time you could reach the 3 ton, it collided with the jeep. You saw the driver unconscious and an officer sitting on the co driver seat bleeding from head injury . He told you that he is from intelligence corps and had just learnt that some anti national elements have placed a dynamite near the bridge on Yamuna river ,and intend killing GOC as his vehicle cross it on his way from the Helipad to the rear Div Hq. The GOC is landing at 1800 hrs .They also intend killing head man of Betia Village at sunset i.e.1830 hrs as he is an informer. Saying this he fainted..As you were thinking taking some action ,the tea shop owner came shouting for help. He said his pony has slipped down the hill ,broken his leg and can be saved if you can transport it immediately to Betia village –Vet Doctor.
  • 4. Additional Information  Lalpur and Sonpur are border towns having quite a few Army units.  Wind shield and head light of 3 Ton are damaged.  Jeep is badly damaged  The convoy returns down everyday and crosses Temple everyday at 1700 hrs  The civil bus leaves Betia Village for Lalpur at 1645hrs  The time now is 1700hrs.  As bold young men what would you do.
  • 5. Problems and priorities  First aid and Medical help to injured officer and Driver  Neutralise dynamite and inform authorities about targeting of GOC  Save Headman of Betia  Recover and med aid to pony  Recover and repair damaged 3 Ton and Jeep  Group to return to units
  • 6. Resources  Seen  10 person of the Group  Bus from Betia  First Aid Box in the bus  Hospital at Lalpur  Tea Shop Owner  Vet Doctor at Betia Village  Unseen  Recovery Vehicle and Mini Bus at Lalpur Army Unit  ID Expert at Div Hq rear  Tractor at Betia Village  Police station Lalpur

Solution  Divide the group in 4 sub groups A(2),B(4),C(2),D(2)  1700 hrs- Gp A (Including me)  Give first aid to injured Officer and Driver from first Aid Box of Bus arriving at Tea Shop and from 3 ton ,at 1700hrs from Betia.  Take the injured persons in the Bus to Lalpur.  Admit them in Hospital.  Inform Police about attack on Betia Village Head Man  Acquire a recovery Vehicle and one Mini Bus from Army unit at Lalpur and return to accident Site by 1900 hrs  Recover/ repair accident vehicle and wait at Tea Shop by 1945 hrs

Solution  1710hrs- Gp B moves on foot to Helipad and Dynamite site  2 Person move to Helipad and to Rear Div Hq  Inform Duty Officer at Div Rear about placement of Dynamite and targeting of GOC  Inform Helipad incharge about the same as well  Accompany ID Expert from Div Rear and get the ID neutralised  2 person move to Yamuna Bridge to keep watch on Dynamite site and prevent others to go in that area  Return to Tea Shop by 1930 hrs  1715 hrs Gp C move to Betia village and organises local people to prevent killing of head man and apprehend the culprit and hand over to Police who arrive at village from Lalpur by 1800 hrs and return to Tea Shop by 1930 hrs  1715 hrs –Gp D move to Vill Betia get a tractor ,move to site where Injured Pony was. Recover Pony and send to Betia Vill Vet Dr along with Tea shop owner and reach back to Tea Shop by 1930 Hrs  2000 Hrs- All members move to Unit at Lalpur by Mini Bus and
