PROFILE
I am an English educator with 11 years of experience in higher education and master’s degrees in
both English and education. Currently, I am a PhD candidate in Rhetoric and Writing. I have
excelled in various administrative, instructional, and tutoring roles for the past eight years at
Bowling Green State University, Mercy College of Ohio, and University of Toledo. My research
interests included the politics of language, rhetoric, media, communications as well as
community-based multi-literacy programs.

• Coordinate face-to-face and online writing tutoring services to a population of 20,000
undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students totaling approximately 5,000 sessions per year.
• Supervise, manage, and train 10-15 graduate and undergraduate writing tutors
• Manage an annual budget of $72,000 for labor, supplies, professional development, and events.
• Develop tutoring policies and procedures and implement tutor training and professional
development programs.
• Provide writing consultation to master’s and doctoral students as well as faculty and staff.
• Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with the various departments and colleges to meet
students’ needs and provide workshops.
• Strategically plan in collaboration with other academic support services (Learning Enhancement

This course broadens understanding of English grammar and mechanics as a foundation
for developing competence in the writing process. Through individual and group
activities, each class session focuses on one or more skills which are fundamental to
effective writing: reading comprehension; critical thinking; and the processes of pre-
writing, revising and proofreading. Collaborative writing and peer evaluation of
professional and student work will be included in class assignments as proficiency is
acquired in sentence structure and in the components of effective paragraphs and essays.
