Journey of Discovery
Inside the mall awaited an array of stores, all
featuring glass frontage with open doorways. Bold
letters in signage, artsy letters, pastel with
contrast, large lettering invite you to enter the
small glass fronted stores. From each doorway an
impression emerges. Impressions created by
lighting, merchandise appearance, of medium
sized items with back lighting stacked high against
the wall, small ones at eye level on shelves,
background music, chitter and chatter and facial
expressions. Much information was gathered.
Follow Me!
Follow Me!

Bold letters in signage, artsy letters, large lettering invite you to
enter the small glass fronted softly lit store. A pattern emerges of
medium sized items with back lighting stacked high against the
wall, small ones at eye level on shelves contrasting colouring to
accent areas creating an artsy and well stocked look Even the
beautiful floor created a lovely background for the floor standing
merchandise. Add to that soft background music and a friendly
relaxed hostess and you leave with a smile and a package!
As I Leave
At the entrance to a woman's secret world. The hand in front
of the lips suggest a secret.
Pastel colours against brightly coloured merchandise, vertical columns which draw the
eyes to the high up and colourful merchandise
A few customers come and carefully make selection sand move on . The
internal spaceis small though carefully and tastefully laid out. The atmosphere is
professional. No music was heard, only quiet conversation. As in all other small
stores in the area the cashier was centrally placed and facing the door. The
lighting is fairly bright.
Jewels found here in this beautiful, well lit and well polished looking store. The atmosphere was quiet, no
customers. Due to the smallness of the store loitering would be unlikely. A chair was thoughtfully provided
for customers and the attendant was courteous. The overall appearance was very, very attractive! The
lighting and decor was stimulating. I shall return if possible!
A large Store
AS on the outside people could be seen chatting on the inside. Children watched the
televisions and sat around. Most categories of household furniture and appliances could
be found here and this created an atmosphere of many stores under one roof. The
atmosphere was busy. A long queue formed in front of the two cashiers sitting near the
back of the store. Could they have been so placed in order to encourage the focused
buyer to pass through the store? Periodically music was played. The hard tiled floor did
not create any problems with the noise level in the tore though. Lighting varied from area
to area based on the theme. Staff appeared professional. Security was evident even on
entering the store. My greatest attraction to this store was associated with the
merchandise which was varied and attractive.
Goodbye Courts
A Three Dollar Store.
Children having a ball in this store even they can afford to shop. Well lit efficient and
stocked with the coming christmas in mind. Volume is very important here a steady
sreamof customerspass infront of the two cashiersseated upfront.
Busy Internet Cafe
A small tech shop and internet cafe combined. Youthful customers were seen utilizing the
services and absorbed in using the computers. The lighting was appropriate for the
function. The decor was functional for the purpose. The sole attendant was busy.

Editor's Notes

  1. Here I zoom in on this artsy sign on the outside. Small ,pretty ,objects and eyecatching highlighted by background lights caught the eye. Friendly sales clerk.Colours scheme cool with areas of deep and contrasting green or pink. Felt comfortable and wanted to stay. Quiet background music also set the mood. Few
