QUALIFICATIONS
I am a seasoned professional with over fifteen years’ experience working in the criminal justice system.
As the Deputy Chief of a juvenile probation department, I have overseen a team of probation officers,
therapeutic and clerical staff; as well as served as the next-in command if the Chief was not available.
As a Juvenile Probation Officer, I work closely with at-risk, deferred, & adjudicated youth, as well as
their families; providing guidance, supervision, local resources and making referrals to outside
agencies for services. I continuously research treatment facilities in order to provide appropriate
recommendations for the Court to consider. Relationships with local and State officials are of utmost
importance in order to provide open communication and sufficient resources to the youth and families
we serve. I have been in charge of several aspects of the probation department such as; Intensive
Supervision, Victim’s Coordinator, Court Officer, primary Mental Health caseload, Supervised Sex
Offenders and also been the Case Work data coordinator. I frequently prepare pre-disposition reports,
social histories and recommendations for disposition on juvenile cases. I have experience in developing
programming and curriculum for both juveniles and parents. For example, the Parent Orientation
class is designed to empower parents to take an active lead in the success of their child while under
supervision. In addition to my probation experience, I have also worked with foster parents and
children in therapeutic foster care, with a variety of issues including physical, emotional and sexual
abuse. I was in charge of recruiting, licensure and training foster parents. I’m also trained as a Forensic
Interviewer for child abuse cases, which requires a solid knowledge base on the issues related to the child’s
abuse and investigations. I have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and am goal/results
oriented. I have exceptional organization skills and decision making abilities with careful attention to
detail.
