need?

2. Definition:
• A condition requiring medical management, healthcare intervention, and/or
use of specialized services or programs.
• Health care for individuals with special needs requires attention, adaptation,
and accommodative measures beyond what are considered routine .

5. Special Needs Prevalence:
15.1 percent of children under the age of 18 years of age in the United
States
 11.2 million children
23.0 percent of US households with children have at least one child with
special health care needs.

Cognitive Impairments (Intellectual Disorder)
Down Syndrome (Down)
Cerebral Palsy (CP)
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
